PERCIVAL :
Ah, found it.
MORDRED :
A dagger?
Is this suited for bigger game? The blade looks too short to reach the heart.
PERCIVAL :
Oh, you're not supposed to kill it on the spot.
Weaken it first, then wear it down before you make the kill.
MORDRED :
So it’s a matter of endurance, then?
PERCIVAL :
Exactly.
Animals have speed on their side, and we have stamina.
With some luck, though, you won’t have to hunt while on the road.
MORDRED :
You look a little less tired today.
Did you sleep well?
PERCIVAL :
I slept for a long time, mostly.
I basically collapsed into Lamorak’s arms.
…I only heard about what happened when I woke up.
To hear about a loved one’s death like that, especially his father…
It must’ve been rough on Dinadan.
Is that why you agreed to go with him?
MORDRED :
It was Gawain’s idea, actually.
But Dinadan seemed pleased,
even if I don’t really see why.
PERCIVAL :
Because he likes you, obviously!
MORDRED :
Mmm, right.
…It’ll be a while before we see each other again.
PERCIVAL :
Yeah.
I’m going to miss you.
MORDRED :
Don’t say these things
so bluntly.
…But.
I’m going to miss you too.
BEDIVERE :
Mordred, are you ready?
[ mordred jumps out of his skin rip ]
BEDIVERE :
Dinadan’s brother just got here.
TRISTAN :
You know, Brunor…
I am glad to see you, despite the less than ideal circumstances.
It’s been quite some time.
BRUNOR :
It has. You look well,
unlike some.
DINADAN :
You’ll have to excuse me, I didn’t sleep much.
…What, are you not happy to see your beloved little brother again?
…Great, and now he’s sulking too.
Ah.
There you are, Mordred.
BRUNOR :
Since when do you need a squire?
DINADAN :
You wanted the Round Table to get involved, didn’t you?
I’m sticking to the rules, that's all.
TRISTAN :
Are you sure you don’t want me to come with you?
Brunor seems wound up like a spring.
DINADAN :
About that, actually, I think he and I need to have a talk.
I’ll catch you later.
TRISTAN :
We’ll go for a holiday in Tintagel. Iseult probably misses you too.
Be strong, Din.
PERCIVAL :
It really is upsetting
to see Dinadan in such a state, doesn't it?
He’s always so cheerful…
( Hi, Galahad! )
TRISTAN :
True. Brunor too.
He looks stern at a glance, but treating Dinadan so coldly isn’t like him.
BEDIVERE :
Given everything Din told us about him…
This isn't how I pictured him either.
TRISTAN :
It’s understandable, though.
PERCIVAL :
You’d never seen him before?
Isn’t he a knight too, though?
BEDIVERE :
Not a knight of the Round Table, no.
So it’s not that surprising. He was probably in his father’s service up until now.
To be honest, the Estrangore family did sort of withdraw into itself.
Brunor, their father, was a founding member of the Round Table, but he never really got involved with the fellowship.
I think he felt out of place here⎯that some people made sure that he would.
Can't say I don't understand the feeling.
[ percy and tristan are embarrassed rip ]
That, or…
He was fed up with it and didn’t want to deal with all of that.
He was stubborn as a mule and only did as he pleased. He and Dinadan have that in common.
He had his hands full with your father, actually.
PERCIVAL :
My father?
TRISTAN :
No,
mine!
Meliodas of Lyonesse!
PERCIVAL :
Oh, what did he⎯
TRISTAN :
It’s true that the Estrangore family usually keeps to itself, though.
Actually, didn’t Dinadan become a member of the Round Table
because he was your squire?
PERCIVAL :
Oh?
BEDIVERE :
That's the long and short of it, yes.
TRISTAN :
He put him through the paces.
BEDIVERE :
You’re exaggerating…somewhat.
Oh, there’s Lamorak.
LAMORAK :
Hey!
BEDIVERE :
Ready for Corbenic?
LAMORAK :
Yes, ready to go and shake some information out of…
…my uncle, I suppose?
PERCIVAL :
You didn’t know we were from the same family either?
LAMORAK :
No.
According to Aglovale, our mother cut all ties with Corbenic when I was really little.
So I’m going to squeeze some information out of him just to clear things up.
It’s as good a starting point as any for the Grail Quest.
Do you wanna come with, Percival? To Corbenic?
PERCIVAL :
No!
…
LAMORAK :
...I see.
Maybe next time, then.
And Tristan! You still owe me a duel!
TRISTAN :
I don’t owe you jack!
BEDIVERE :
How about you, Tristan? Any idea where to start?
TRISTAN :
You said Merlin mentioned the Lady of the Lake, right?
BEDIVERE :
Ah, yes.
He appeared at the king’s table this morning to spend some time with him.
( Arthur :
Merlin, please⎯
Merlin :
Just like when you were little <3 )
BEDIVERE :
He must have taken Arthur’s coldness to heart. And Arthur can’t ever stay mad at him for long, it seems.
In any case, he did mention the Lady of the Lake.
Apparently, she knows more about the subject matter than he does.
TRISTAN :
Wouldn’t that be the perfect occasion for you, Kay and Arthur to get out of Camelot?
BEDIVERE :
Of course. And you’ll fill in for us, naturally.
I’m afraid we’ll only “go on a quest” if something dire happens.
Like a war,
or some vengeful giant.
PERCIVAL :
Lady of the Lake…
Isn’t she a fay?
BEDIVERE :
Indeed. Who knows where she is, though. We haven’t seen her in a long time.
Lancelot could've led us to her, but⎯
GALAHAD :
I know someone who could help.
I mean…
I don’t know where Sir Lancelot is, but…
Bors!
BORS :
Easy there, honey, please.
My head is still ringing.
GALAHAD :
Do you know where we could find the Lady of the Lake?
BORS :
The Lady of the Lake?
If we stay in Britain, yes, I do have an idea.
I can even take you there, if you’d like me to come with.
TRISTAN :
Of course, Bors, it’s been so long!
Where would that be?
BORS :
Oh, in Cornwall.
TRISTAN :
What in the world are we waiting for?!
DINADAN :
…Hey, are you planning to ignore me the whole time?
…
I missed you, you know.
BRUNOR :
Clearly not enough for you to come home at any point in the last eight months.
DINADAN :
…I was on a quest.
BRUNOR :
And I had to bury our father.
Alone.
[ mordred is worried aww ]
DINADAN :
…Why do you think the Round Table is behind all this?
BRUNOR :
I have evidence.
I’ll show you.
Evidence that our father’s killer
is Bors of Gaunes.

ROUND TABLE TRIVIA
Hunting is a common practice : aside from providing food, it also serves as a pastime and a form of training.
Nobles go after larger game, using hounds and birds of prey ; commoners make do with smaller game.
MORDRED :
We wear down bears and boars with hounds and then put them to the sword, so this little dagger’s quite confusing.
PERCIVAL :
But you’re not going to eat a bear with just three people, are you? ( A rabbit’s plenty enough… )
