We have a spice cabinet. Really it is probably mostly old spices that need to go! But it's what we have so...
When starting AIP, it becomes apparent very early on that you can only have some of the spices that you are used to eating and will likely have to modify how you season your dishes. This was a little daunting for me at first, but then I discovered all of the new flavor combinations that are so delicious and are compliant.
The Spice Box was created by my husband, I'm not always creative enough to think of these great ideas! He labeled a box and put all of the compliant spices that are safe for me to eat in the box! What a simple idea. Let me tell you how freeing this has been!
One of the best things is that now, when I'm cooking, I just take my spice box out of the cabinet and know that everything in there is safe to use! This is great because it has really allowed me to be creative in the kitchen, not worrying each time I return to the cabinet to determine if I could add this or that etc.

Having a box with all of the safe spices in one place really allows you to experiment - for better or worse - and makes cooking with AIP a lot of fun!
