✞Lockport Union-Sun & Journal May 14, 2013 LOCKPORT — Loving and loved daughter, sibling, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor, Rita M. (Disinger) Diemert passed away May 13, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Lockport on October 15, 1920, she was the daughter of Howard H. and Lydia E. (Blessing) Disinger.
Rita was a graduate of Lockport High School Class of 1938, and the assistant to Dr. Arthur J. Pautler, DDS. She was an active member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Lockport, and also belonged to Club 60, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and was a past president of Roy B. Kelley PTA. She enjoyed dancing, music, singing along with the Lockport Community Band, baking, spending time with her family and especially vacationing in the Thousand Islands for the past thirty years, leaving many cherished friends in the Fischer's Landing area. Rita was predeceased by husband, Donald Diemert, on June 4, 2004; sisters, Ruth Eaton, Eleanor Mundie and Edith Disinger; and brothers, Harry Dean, Donald Disinger and William Disinger.
Survived by brother, Frank (Marge) Disinger of Lockport; children, Carolyn Wass, Paul (Mary) Diemert, Douglas (Susan) Diemert, Jackie Meyer-Ehmke (Edward), Susan Diemert-Carbello, all of Lockport, and Michael Diemert of Newfane; grandchildren, Eric Wass, Joshua Meyer, Jeremy Meyer, Dr. Jennifer Grazer, Jessica Churchill, Sarah Diemert, Jeremiah Diemert, Kathryn Diemert and Charles Diemert; also five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Donations to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 75 East Ave., Lockport, NY 14094; or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094; or to the American Diabetes Association, 315 Alberta Dr., Suite 102, Amherst, NY 14226, would be appreciated by the family.
