Allan, Grace (Meeks), & Frieda (Knubel) Disinger
✞Allan E. Disinger 79, of 31 Spaulding St., a local lawyer, died Tuesday (Feb. 22, 1972) at Lockport Memorial Hospital after a lingering illness. A native of the Town of Lockport, he was graduated from Lockport High School in 1910 and earned his law degree from the Cornell University College Law School. He was admitted to the bar in 1915 and practiced law in the Lockport area for half a century. Two years ago, Mr. Disinger received the Silver Beaver Award from the Lewiston Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America, the highest award given by a council. He had served in scouting for 45 years at that time and was still an active scout leader at the age of 77. He was also a World War I Army veteran and member of the First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school and adult Bible classes for many years. He was a past noble grand of United Lodge 98, IOOF, and a 50-year member and past master of Niagara Lodge 375, F&AM.
He is survived by his widow, Frieda Knubel Disinger; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Nancy) Grasmehr of Costa Mesa, Calif.; a son, John F. Disinger of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Howard Disinger of Lockport and Ellis Disinger of Chadron, Neb.; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at their convenience at the Lange Funeral Home, 186 East Ave., where private services will be held Saturday. The Rev. Leland M. Roth will officiate. Burial will be in Glenwood, Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund or the Lewiston Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America, the family said.
✞Services for Frieda E. Disinger, 85, of Tudor Lane, a retired employee of the Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors Corp., will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in First English Lutheran Church, 185 Locust St. Burial will be in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Wolcottsville. The former Frieda Knuebel died Tuesday (March 7, 1989) in Lockport Memorial Hospital.
She retired from Harrison in 1963 and was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 686 Retirees Travel Club. She also was a member of First English Lutheran Church and the Lockport Senior Citizens. She was the widow of Allan Disinger.
Surviving are a son, John F. of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Nancy Grasmehr of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; a brother, Reinhold Knuebel of Ashtabula, Ohio; five grandchildren, and a great-grandson. The Buffalo News By Staff Mar 9, 1989
