PROJECT GOAL
You will complete a game‑industry–focused project over 18 class periods (about 18 hours). Your project may be created in Unreal Engine or in an approved art/design application. The goal is to explore, learn, and create something meaningful connected to game design. You do not need to finish a complete game or project, but you must show continuous progress and independent learning throughout the project. If you choose a small project, you must complete a series of mini‑projects to fill the required time.
PROJECT OPTIONS
Choose a direction that matches your interests and skills. Examples include:
• A small fantasy dungeon or environment in Unreal Engine
• A simple boss or creature encounter
• A short interactive puzzle scene
• A stylized exploration level
• A 3D character or creature model
• A set of 3D props or weapons
• A piece of concept art or an environment art set
• A turntable animation or showcase scene
*Your project must be challenging enough to fill all 18 class periods.
WHAT YOU WILL TURN IN
At the end of the 18 periods, you must submit:
• Your final project or completed mini‑projects
• Your full daily journal
• Your final written reflection
• All screenshots showing progress
In my high school game design class, I will be working on a final project focused on exploring, learning, and creating something related to the game industry. This project can be completed in Unreal Engine or through an art‑based application, and I will have eighteen class periods, approximately eighteen hours, to complete my work. I am not required to produce a fully finished game or project, but I must show consistent independent learning, exploration, and progress that reflects the time given. Because of this, I am encouraged to choose a challenging and interesting topic. If I choose a smaller project, I will need to complete multiple mini projects to meet the required amount of work.
I enjoy fantasy games, I love drawing, and I have basic 3D modeling skills from a previous modeling class. I also enjoy drones and racing drones. With these interests and skills in mind, what kinds of projects could I explore? Then condense it into a simple to read and easy to paste into my website.
