TUTORIAL FIRST DRAFT 3/2/22
In the Object List, Right-Click on the Front camera
Right-Click on this image and Copy it.
After you copy the reference image, select Create > Stencil . . .
Check Use Image from Clipboard and then OK
Move the scene around until the Mudbox simple character is positioned/aligned the best you can with the stencil.
Once the Mudbox simple character is aligned with the reference image.
Lock the Stencil so that you do not adjust it.
Lock the Front camera so that you do not move it.
Unlock HumanBody so that you manipulate it.
Now using the grab and bulge tool, manipulate the Mudbox character to fit the stencil.
Note: The stencil reference image should not move because it is locked.
Once you have finished manipulating the shape of the Mudbox simple character to the reference image the best you can . . . Select Done.
Now we are going to look through the Perspective camera again to check to see if the body shape is not deformed.
Right-Click on the Perspective camera and choose Look Through
Now, evaluate the shape of the Mudbox character from different angles.
Now we are going to look through the Front camera again and paint on the muscle texture as a reference .
Look through the Front camera again.
It should look like this.
Under Paint Tools tab and select Projection.
The reference image will switch to color.
Now we are "projecting" the color image on to the Mudbox model and we are going to paint or transfer the projection on to the surface. When you start to paint on the surface a new window will pop up. " Create New Paint Layer" Rename the paint layer and click OK.
As you paint, it will transfer to the surface.
It should look like this. Note: I did not paint the hands or feet.
Hit {q} to quit stencil.
Now we are going to create a 'Back' camera and repeat the steps to paint the back side image on the Mudbox character.
Create a new Camera
Camera 01 will show up in the Object List
Rename Camera to 'Back' and Check Orthographic
Right-Click on the new Back camera & select Look Through.
Check the Transformation box
Change the Rotate X & Rotate Z to 0.00 and Rotate Z to -180.000
Now Uncheck the Transformation box
After you copy the reference image, select Create > Stencil . . .
Check Use Image from Clipboard and then OK
Move the scene around until the Mudbox character is positioned/aligned the best you can with the stencil.
Once it is aligned, lock the new Back camera.
It should look like this.
Paint the surface.
Now let's start sculpting the muscles.
Now Look through the Perspective View. Right-Click on the Perceptive Camera & Look Through
SAVE NOW. Name it, 'AnatomyTextureOnly'

ADDING MORE DETAIL!
To add more details we will need more divisions to pur model. Press {Shift} + {d} twice to to move to level 3 of detail.
Using the the basic tools like wax, grab, bulge, and an inverse foamy brush. The goal is to roughly define the muscle locations.
Switch to the Paint menu, choose Layers, hide the Diffuse layer
With Diffuse layer.
Switch to the Paint menu, choose Layers, hide the Diffuse layer
Without Diffuse layer
Smooth out the muscles and add the final details.
