Noodle Tools in Design
NoodleTools will be the place where you document your research.
Showing evidence of your research is important for justifying your design direction.
Each piece of primary and secondary research should be documented in NoodleTools, with MLA citations. Follow the steps below:
Step 1: Gather your research
Primary Research: Survey, interview, observation
Secondary Research: Use the resources available and keywords to locate your research.
Keywords
Make a list of 5-6 keywords to guide you.

Create and conduct a survey with a potential client and an expert.

Record your research from secondary sources
Step 2: Document your Sources
Record your Secondary research in NoodleTools.
2.1 Create an MLA Citation
Click on (1) "Sources"; then click on (2)"New Source"
2.2 Create a note
Select the media type and follow the directions for creating the MLA citation.
3. Record and reflect on your research
Create a notecard for each sources Your goal is to:
(1) Create notecards for each of the Secondary sources you used in your research.
Websites
Books
Television Broadcasts
etc.
(2) Create notecards for each of the Primary sources you used in your research.

3.2 Create a new note card.
3.3 Complete your note card.
Select your MLA source (which you completed in step 2)
