Option 1: Finding and Analysing Motion in the Real World.
The goal of the motion topic (02.1) is to explore idealised motion. However, reality is rarely as clear and clean as the results that we obtain in class. As a short, initial exploration of the motion of an object that you experience in daily life. You can analyse almost any motion that you can visualize.
This mini-project has two goals:
Analysis of a specific motion of you choice.
Communicate your findings in a way that will engage your audience to want to know more about the motion.
Data collection can be done with (but not limited to) the following:
LoggerPro Video Analysis - Tutorial
Three Axis Accelerometers - Vernier and Cell-phone
Vernier Motion detectors - small controlled motion
Cell phone data using internal sensors and various apps.
PRESENTATION OF FINDINGS:
Your findings (changes/ranges/maximums/minimums) of your positions, velocities, acceleration and possibly jerks can be presented in any format of your choice. Video description, ThingLink description of graphs, poster.
Option 2: Creation of Photo Montage of Motion
How can you capture the motion of object in a single frame? By playing with the shutter speed on your camera, create a series of photos that embody objects in motion.
