During the summer months, I am a firm believer in time spent away from intense school work. These brief months will be some of the last prolonged times you will be able to spend with your parents (like it or not). Additionally, just like teachers, you need a break to decompress. But most importantly, you need time to be a kid/teenager. Therefore, you will not have specific assignments to complete or chapters to read, but you will have concepts to review (see below) and questions to ask.
Fundamental to the study of physics is a basic understanding of some key mathematical skills, those skills are listed below. We will have a series of quick formatives during the early lessons to assess your ability to carry out the following skills. You only need to complete those lessons that you are are uncertain about.
During the school year we will be focused on discussions and problem solving within our class meetings. Therefore much of the traditional lectures are expected to be viewed outside of class time. The three main resources are Flipping Physics, Khan Academy, and an online textbook, OpenSTAX - College Physics for AP. In addition to these resources, we will be using a multitude of simulations, online problem sets, and animations, these will be distributed through the unit planners and this website.
