Despite financial aid covering some fees from your tuition, students often have to purchase textbooks out of pocket, depending on the course, professor, and the type of textbook(s) available.
Most textbooks are expensive because of the content, the edition, and the author who may choose to raise the price because of the book's unavailability and/or competition with other versions.
There are SEVERAL websites you can use to find free or much cheaper textbooks. Most textbooks that are free come in the form of .pdf files that students can directly access through a laptop, or technological device.
Finding textbooks in this format also come more convenient to students because they have the ability to search within the text, unlike a physical copy, which requires students to manually flip the pages and find where it was they saw a specific sentence or quote in the book, an e-book or .pdf version of the text allows students to search for content within the book using the CNTRL+F or COMMAND+F strategy!
