Try to refrain from putting your photo on your resume unless it is required by the company you are applying to (depending on the job type)
Building a resume can be difficult for some, especially if they do not have much work experience, or, have too much to summarize in a 1-2 page document
One tip I would recommend doing is being careful with resume templates. While some applications offer resume templates for people to use, it becomes overused or too well-known that employers can notice whether or not your resume was inspired or created through a template (which make you seem unprofessional or unoriginal)
Remember to keep it short and summarize each work experience into 1-2 bullet points. Also remember that you can use the job description of the position you worked for to describe your responsibilities and tasks in a more professional manner
All CUNY schools have resume-building workshops and/or career services and fairs for you, as a prospective college student, to utilize and enjoy!
These services provided to you are beneficial as they are sometimes aligned with your degree-pathway and goals. It also allows you an opportunity to network with others around you
Some careers are exclusive to college students, especially if the job description requires that you are a part-time/full-time college student with a minimum GPA requirement or degree pathway plan
Consider or take advantage of any opportunity exclusive to college students presented to you as it will make you a more-likely candidate for the position available. It will also help increase your network, and allow you to add more on your resume and/or say more during interviews!
College and Career Bridge for All is an example of a job that is exclusive to college students (CUNY, SUNY or Private students)!
