For undergraduates at CUNY, an enrollment deposit (sometimes referred to as a commitment deposit) is a one-time non-refundable fee of $100 to commit to the college that has accepted you!
For undergraduates at SUNY/Private schools (although this amount can sometimes vary), an enrollment/commitment deposit is a one-time non-refundable fee of $150 to commit to the college that has accepted you.
At CUNY, you can pay this amount through CUNYFirst, or in person at your school's Bursar's office with cash, a check, or money order made payable to the college (view video).
At SUNY, you can do the same thing–either in person, or through your school's portal.
If you do not see a Pay Commitment Deposit button, then your deposit was waived or already paid for!
If you are able to register for classes, then this fee was also paid/waived previously.
For CUNY students, to make sure of this, navigate to the CUNY Admissions Center, view the Application Status, click on My Application, click on View the Details on Application Information, and Accept the Offer to pay the fee.
If the option to accept is no longer there, then you no longer have to worry about it!
