CUNY Early College, a program under The City University of New York (CUNY) Office of K16 Initiatives provides high school students a rigorous college-prep curriculum, with the opportunity to earn up to two years of college credit while in high school, free of cost their families. In New York City, there are 20 different public high schools that offer the ECI program. These innovative schools make a college education more accessible, affordable and attractive to New York City students!
Early College secondary schools offer integrated academic experiences and supports beginning in middle school that allow students to begin taking college courses as early as the 9th grade (depending on the high school's model and design goal)! Students may earn up to 60 college credits and/or an associate’s degree in liberal arts
In total, there are 13 participating CUNY schools, partnered with 20 different NYC public high schools across all 5 boroughs
CUNY College Now, a program under The City University of New York (CUNY) Office of K16 Initiatives, is a free college transition/dual enrollment program for New York City Department of Education high school students
Similar to ECI, College Now offers high school students the opportunity to earn college credits while in high school, that can be transferred over to the college that they continue to take classes at, or, at an entirely different college that they may apply to
College Now is offered at more high school in New York City, and all CUNY campuses are participating partners for high schools that offer this program, across all 5 boroughs
