She is not thinking clearly. She is gripping my steering wheel with the utmost fear, anxiety, sadness, defeat. We have only driven no less than 15 minutes from home when she calls him on her phone. She is terrified she has been “blocked”. She has not yet, but will be soon. Panic. Locked out of all sources of communication with him, forever. Gone as quick as he came, little notice of his departure, not a word. No more mister so-and-so, or fun trips to the mall and outlet store, and no more car rides with the little pug ivy.
