Hi, my name is McKenna Dole and I'm a freshman this year. I actually am undecided on my major right now, but am interested in Advertising & PR. I love watching and playing sports, spending time outside, and spending time with friends & family!
Pair of Shoes POV
My name is Jordan, and I'm a pair of shoes. Right now I’m sitting on a wooden shelf, but that’s not how all my days go by. I actually started in a box, sitting on a different shelf, until a person took me home with them. I was unboxed and put on a shelf with a bunch of other shoes, and little did I know that we’d be fighting over who gets to be worn the most. Yes, some days I spend the entirety of my day on said shelf, and have to watch my person pick other shoes to go out and experience the world with, but on other days I get to experience the world myself! So many new things happen each time I’m worn: sometimes I get to experience grass, dirt, cement, and occasionally—the not so lovely—old, chewed up gum on the sidewalk.

Louise Bourgeois
Bourgeois feels as though art shouldn't have to be explained. She wants her art to reach the viewer in a way that they can connect to her piece. Her pieces are made of hands that have been casted in plaster, and typically display a set of petite hands and a set of larger hands. The larger hands intend to signify guidance and the smaller ones to represent vulnerability.

Our installation piece, Tranquil, is installed in the window area of the Calder Art Center. Our installed object are orbeez, which were a big part of our childhood and symbolize how we grow, mature, and get older. We get to a point, in our lives, when we are at peace and tranquil.
