When we made this project, we took yarn and tied it from the upper lockers to the lower lockers. We used bright red yarn. The image that is created is sharp and stiff, however, we are using soft yarn that moves when touched. The original idea was that you would get this nostalgic feeling like when you were a kid playing spy and lasers. This transformed as we installed. Instead of having this feeling of nostalgia, it felt more like a puzzle and optical illusion. When looking down the middle all you see is the X, but as you move around and under, your view changes. Art doesn't have to have a specific meaning, it can mean whatever to whoever. I think this project to me was about all the barriers between me and the world in front of me.

This was my comment on feminity. what does it mean to be sexualized? What does it mean to be comfortable? what is the real purpose of a bra? who are you wearing it for? this is all up for debate and what it means for each person.
Damien Hirst is an artist from Great Britain. He paints, sculpts, draws, and creates installations out of ordinary objects and not so ordinary objects. He owns his own gallery in London, Newport street Gallery. He works with formaldehyde and preserves animals in them suspended in a box. He also does oil painting of influential figures in history. Recently he worked on sculptures with classic Disney characters made out of marble. The purpose of these works varies.
Water is beautiful.
can be beautiful...
should be beautiful...
But I can only see wave after wave, each one more massive than the one before it. I am sinking like a squirrel in a water bucket, lured in by some good looking snacks. My mama laughed when she called it "swim lessons for chipmunks." She didn't tell me they didn't survive. I always thought I could float, that I could swim. But I am breathless.
In the cubard, take me out. That warm feeling on a winter. Marshmellows, whip cream, and cinnamon. Hot coaco, tea, and coffee. Left out, halfway filled. Getting colder, colder, cold coffee. Washed out, in the dishwasher. Back in the cuboard with all the rest. Until next morning when I'll see you again.
Daisy- It's always good to be careful around fireworks, that's for sure. I think the middle picture potentially means adjusting to a new enviroment given the car seat? In regards to growing up, one doesn't need to see a before and after of a person to understand that change is continuos. Thus, in any stage of life, it is true that we are growing in some way.
