Tobiano

(TbTb/nTb/-) Tobiano

Tobiano is a white marking originating on the spine or topline. It can range from just the socks of the animal or up to and around the withers and rump. All four legs have white, at least below the ankle and knee. 'Holes' in tobiano are regular and distinct, forming ovals and round patterns. Tobiano can be affected by Reversal, turning the white  marking to black. 

Non-White markings cannot blend into or modify Tobiano. Other markings need to be a distinctly different color or lighter/darker then Tobiano.

Tobiano does not touch the face, but can color the ears in dominant expression.

(nTb)  Single allele 

Tobiano cannot cover the tail or neck as single allele and must have at least 1 point of white on the topline (hips or shoulder).

(TbTb) Dominant

Tobiano can cover the neck in dominant expression but does not color the head. At maximum expression the entire Algolope can be white minus the head, and with at least one of the followings areas unaffected: groin, chest or tail.

Variation:

Tobiano can be white or offwhite, with slight pink nuance near skin areas.

• Tobiano sits above all other markings, and above reversal white marks.

• Tobiano should not have small disconnected white, speckles or roaned edges. 

• Holes in the mark should be large and circular or oval cutting into the white area. 

• Tobiano does not affect the ribs. It should not appear like Overo. 

• Tobiano should not be stripe-like or have jagged or textured edges.

• Tobiano can have mapping on the edges.

• Tobiano combined with Overo creates "Tovero" and allows more extensive white covering the sides of the Algo.

• Tobiano may freely present Cat tracks. Cat Tracks should be, irregular, with mapping, and not resemble Belton Spots.

• Tobiano can show Belton Spots.

• Tobiano mapping can present with 1-2 spots of 'Ghost' Mapping, where a solid white area is not present.

• Tobiano can be textured on the edges to mimic fur.
