Breeding in algolopes is the pairing of two individual algos to produce a litter of kits. Breeding is done for various reasons, but the primary objective for most Wilds is to spread their genetics and survive. Algolopes can only breed once they have completed their Breeding Rites and earned a Breeding Seal! For Wild Algolopes they must also complete a Courtship Submission (Nothing explicit) of the two Algolope meeting and spending time together prior to submitting a breeding request. This can be either Art or Lit.
Wild Algolope Breeding limits are a separate mechanic from Breeding Tamed Algolopes, where there can be up to 3 pairs and 1 split litter between another member.
Wild Algolope also need to be 'Aged up' to Adults if not Imports, Encountered Adult Algolopes, or Leader Characters already. Lost Kits may be any age, but choosing younger than 2 years requires age up. Activities like Exploration will have Algolope finding others of their kind that may be Kits or Juveniles.
Wild Algolope breeding Season is in Fall (August, September, October) or the Lore Months of Vero, Luru and Luga.
Litters are often 1-2 kits, rarely 3.
The type of the kits and number of kits in a litter is dependent on the Dam or Mother.
A Tamed Dam will produce the usual 1-4 kits, which will be tamed. Whereas a Wild Dam will produce 1-2 kits, rarely 3, which will be Wild.
Broken Bonds may be used to convert Tamed Algolope to Wild.
Wild Algolope are any Algolope with a Wild Id or W### for their Import name, with a few exceptions such as Raffle Algolope being designated as Wild.
At minimum the drawing must be Halfbody (4-5+ sections), flat colored, cleanly sketched, with at least a simple background with two elements. Shading is optional. Both Dam and Sire should be visible.
Literature submissions must be at least 800 words and must actively feature both Algolope.
Once you've completed your Courtship art or lit, submit to our Courtships folder.
Only 1 breeding request per comment!
You may only breed 3 pairs per month, and only participate in 1 shared litter per month. (This is separate from Tamed Breeding Requests)
Please do NOT reply to admin Litter comments EXCEPT to mark the sale/transfer of Kits!
Please be sure to include this form for breeding requests!
*If you are the owner of both algos, you still need to write yourself a slot proof in the import's comment section, otherwise the breeding will be declined.
For splits tag your breeding partner! They need to confirm the breeding for it to be rolled!

Note on late submissions!
Courtships should be used within the Wild Breeding Season (Aug-Oct), however we have a grace period for late submissions and members may submit to breeding que after the season as long as the Slot and Courtship were submitted (pending to the group) prior to the season end! If both are submitted then you have 1 week grace to submit to the Breeding Request Que, until roughly October 7th.
If you fail to submit the breeding request in that timeline, then you'll have to wait til next season but may use that same courtship.
Courtships that are used will receive a comment noting 'Courtship used in Breeding', which will link back to the breeding request for easy tracking.
Inbreeding in Algolope is often dangerous and heavily frowned upon as it mucks up the lineage and causes the offspring to either be stillborn or with defects such as malformed spines, stingers, blindness, brittle or weak bones, infertility, as well as deafness. Inbreeding can also harm the Dam and result in stillborn offspring.
