Rules

Algolopes is a 16+ LGBTQIA+ friendly space.

Our primary rule is to be kind and respectful to all members and staff.
Activities such as spreading misinformation, rumors, participating in harmful activity, inciting hostility or creating a toxic environment may result in immediate removal with or without warning. Staff reserve the right to exercise discretion in regards to these matters.

Conduct:
1. We have a 3 strike policy for conduct and breaking group rules or guidelines in any category. Receiving 3 strikes will result in a temporary 3 month ban from participating in the group and removal from the discord.
Depending on severity of the conduct infraction, bans may be indefinite.

2. Algolope staff are not to be held liable for for losses, claims, damages, or expenses, including legal fees, arising from your usage of our service or game, a violation of our terms, or any conduct you submit to the platform.  Bans due to conduct will not result in any monetary compensation, nor will a members voluntary discretion to remove themselves from our platforms. You agree to these terms by participating in our group. 

3a. All issues should be brought up to staff via Note (Message Admins) on deviantart. Do not DM staff with general questions or unsolicited messages on Deviantart, Toyhouse, or Discord. These DMS will be ignored and may result in a strike for conduct.

b. Please note we may not be able to resolve all issues and we do not police or moderate any platforms outside out Deviantart group (https://www.deviantart.com/algolope) and our Official Discord.

4. Be respectful and patient to admins. While we try to keep ques for activities under 2 weeks wait time, real life situations, holidays and other delays may extend wait times. Please only notify the group if the wait is over 2 weeks and delays have not been communicated otherwise via official announcements or via staff activity pages.
If there is an error with a roll, processed action, or your bank, you may post to Error Reports for correction or investigation.

5. Do not Block any Admins and Moderators. We cannot process requests or activities if blocked and this may affect your ability to play the ARPG.


Member to Member Transactions:
Since this group allows exchanges and trades of designs, genotypes, and items for currency, points or cash, as well as art payments, please be sure that you're careful and document all deals! Be sure to document all forms of payment and exchanges via screenshots. That way if you paid for or completed an exchange but the agreement was not upheld, you can send the group a note with the situation and we can do our best to help out.

1. We do not mediate for issues involving waiting on art payments or  currency payments from others, it is recommended to instate deadlines, such as 1 week per Activity artwork or a 1 month deadline and self-moderate your deals. 

2. All deals and transactions are considered 'At your own risk'. While we will do our best to resolve issues with proper records we do not guarantee any specific or desired results and will remain fair and impartial.

Tips: Do not give ownership to another member unless the entirety of a deal has been completed. IE paid for in full, all artwork is complete... We are not responsible for moderating the timeliness of art completion, or enforcing art trades on others. If nothing is exchanged, there's no need for a report and nothing for us to act upon.

Set Deadlines or request a self-imposed Deadline to prevent waiting an indeterminate amount of time. A few weeks to 1 month is usually doable.

Track your deals, good places include via sale journal or google sheets. 

Breeding Rules

1. You may exchange slots for whatever price you'd like, this includes selling for real life currency, virtual currency (Pet Sim currency, ie Treasure on Flight Rising, Points on Deviantart), trading for ingame items or other genotypes, gifting, or raffling without compensation (see Deviantart TOS), ect, as long as your Algolope has completed it's Rites and received a  Breeding Seal or completed requirements for Wildplay Breeding.

The only exception is when someone is exchanging art to help your Algolope achieve its Breed Seal. We encourage a deadline to be set and screenshots taken of any deals in that regard. See Member to Member Transactions for guidelines.

2. Slots may not be revoked once initial exchange conditions are met. 

3. You may choose to state conditions for use with the slot, limited to the following:
- No inbreeding
- Do not use items that harm the mother. (TBA)
- Slot can be used with X algolope only. ( Such as a specific agreed upon pairing or import.)
- Slot may/may not be resold/traded/gifted. (Choose any or all)
- Slot may be resold/traded for $amount/AR amount. (Whatever was paid for the slot or a lower amount)
- Slot may be gifted only.

Things you cannot enforce:
- You must heal the Dam if injured from stillborns. (Healing is the responsibility of the Dam's Owner.)
- If X gene/trait/coat/color is rolled the kit goes to me. (You cannot claim a part of a resulting roll unless the breeding is a shared split and terms are discussed  and posted in the breeding submission itself, with the split partner agreeing to the breeding before it's rolled.)
- You must give me a slot to offspring(s). (Offspring are owned by the user submitting the breeding, who may then distribute as they see fit.)
- You can only use the offspring for xyz activity. (Members providing slots cannot police what the offspring are used for.)
-You must use  X Item. (The User submitting the breeding may use any items they see fit, including sex-determination items, genotype or result preview items, or items that guarantee or add any amount of kits.)
- Blacklists of any kind. (We do not permit blacklists of users or whom the slot owner can breed with. Once they earn a slot they are generally free to use it with whomever they see fit.)
Examples: You give a slot to @UserA, you cannot dictate who @UserA used a slot with, such as  a Split Breeding Partner, nor that they cannot sell to any specific user, such as '@UserC cannot have any kits' or 'You cannot breed with @UserC's algolopes.'

Posting or participating in Blacklist activities will receive a strike for conduct.

Note: In split breedings, distribution of resulting kits should be commented on the breeding results to discern owners of kits. Such as 'All kits to @UserA', 'Kit 1 to @UserA, Kit 2 to @UserB', "@UserA is claiming Kit 1 and giving to @UserC', or 'all male/female kits to @UserC'. etc
Split breeding conditions are not enforceable on slot permissions and instead should be posted on the Breeding Request Form. The Split breeding partner must then comment in response to the request with their approval or agreement before that breeding is rolled and terms are thus finalized. We recommend tagging your split partner in breeding requests and discussing the terms of the breeding with one another prior to submitting any Split Breedings to the group.



4a. Deceased Algolopes - you may decease any Algolope you designed or commissions a design for, at any time to have it 'removed' from the game and its import replaced with a statue memorial image.
b. Slots can no longer be sold or traded from a Deceased Algolope and all prior slots must be honored, no exceptions. Deceasing is a permanent act and you cannot return a deceased algolope to gameplay if you change your mind.

Should you wish to go on a hiatus it is best to just step away as needed. Your algolope will remain frozen when not in use and if you return you may resume playing without issue.

c. Exceptions: Raffle, Event, Wild or special staff designed algolope will never have their designs removed from the group. The algolope may be returned to the group for future use.

Art Submission Rules

1. Do not trace.

2. Referencing must be done with permission, such as using free stock or another artists style as inspiration.

3. Works must be unique and fully created by the artist. We do not permit photo-manipulations or photographs, screenshots or background templates. Backgrounds created for the group templates may be used as visual reference but may not be used directly in any submission.

4. Assets and Stamps, while permitted must be significantly modified to count for activities or Rank Points.
IE: Using a 3D model of a human in Clip Studio Paint, the model may be used for posing or sizing, and may be traced for anatomy, but all clothing and the drawing itself must be made by the artist. 3D models should be used as a resource or asset that does not appear in the final work.
Stamp brushes, often for scenery and foliage, like trees or plants,  must be shaded, painted over or otherwise altered to count for Rank Points and as valid 'Elements' in a background. Stamps that are solid and simply copy pasted all over a canvas will be rejected from Activity Rolls and Rank Points until sufficiently modified.

5. Free Stock: Free stock must be credited with proof of permission to use the stock if not publicly listed on the stock resources as free to use, as well as links to the original stock, both the artists and submission in the artwork description.

6. Crediting a person without asking permission beforehand to use their work, such as 'Tree by Artist on Twitter' is not allowed. You must have permission for non-public, paid or permission dependent resources and stock. If we receive copyright or infringement claims we will investigate and this may result in removal of works, rewards, rank points, temporary or indefinite bans, or a conduct strike at admin discretion. 

Note: ART ROLEPLAY GROUP (ARPG)
An ARPG is an Art Roleplay Group, where members or users create written and visual works to progress the game, receive items, or gain more Imports and Genotypes.

Art Quality
Art should not be rushed in nature or low effort. We value artist and writers time and standard 'ARPG grinding' artwork will not receive loot. Please read 'Rank Points' Guide for examples.

What is referencing?  Using a photo or image as a starting point for inspiration, such as for a landscape drawing or a pose of an animal. You can find good free stock on sites like unsplash and pexel to use to form a background or sketch the pose. These images should not be photo-manupulated, painted over, or traced, but you can colorpick or draw from observation.

What are Assets?  Assets include brushes and stamp brushes (like tree stamps, flowers, grass) for programs like photoshop, Gimp, and Clip Studio, textures like paper, grunge, watercolor, or patterns uploaded by others to use. While we allow these, we do not accept straight stamps of brushes or patterns and the use of assets must be a starting point in your artwork and modified to add shading, light and details with credit for publicly hosted free stock and resources.

NO AI artworks or literature will be accepted, if we find out someone is using and posting AI artwork or literature they will be banned. We do not support AI as it steals from artists and writers.

Group Asset Permissions
1. No templates, designs, backgrounds,  item art, or any group assets, including but not limited to: literature, mechanics, lore and setting,  or coded rollers, should be used for NFT or AI under any circumstances.

2. Group assets, templates, designs, backgrounds, item artwork, or other assets cannot resold, modified, redistributed or reuploaded without direct and explicit permission from the group.

3. Resources like backgrounds or cosmetic items may be used  only if a member possesses these items in their bank or has otherwise purchased or earned them. Some items like backgrounds may have a limited number of uses, or other application guidelines applied, and the specific item rules should then be referenced when using.
Ie: Plains Background - this is the default free background to use on any Import Designs, with three variations.
Red Forest - A premium or event background, it can only be used if earned, purchased or acquired via gameplay and listed in a users bank. Once the usage limit is reached the specific item(s) may be removed from a users bank.

Templates:
1. Templates are not for use outside of designing algolope genotypes and imports you own. They may not be redistributed, edited or colored for purposes outside the group. Designs may not be sold as 'Adoptables' or character designs and templates should not be reuploaded anywhere, including unofficial designs, to users own social medias, deviantart pages,  or websites.

2. Pending Designs may be uploaded privately to a user's Sta.sh for the design approval process. Pending designs should not be removed until the design is approved and uploaded. Removal of a pending upload design will require you to resubmit and is subject to monthly limits.

Exceptions: You are conceptualizing  a genotype you own, decide you don't like the results,  and wish to sell the concept. You must sell the concept and genotype as a pair, or offer design commisions for other users of genotypes they own. You cannot sell 'Concepts' by their own or otherwise make unofficial designs.

3. Approved and Uploaded Designs, aka Imports may be posted to a users Toyhou.se  for character recording purposes and keeping track of artwork, but must link back to one of the following:

Users may also make  a google sheets tracker for recording slots, Rank Points, or other information. These are the only sites we permit re-upload or hosting images of uploaded designs. Do not link Admins as creators of a design or owner. You may link designers directly.

Artfight: We permit uploading imports for approved algolopes only to sites like Artfight with the above credits as well as designer credit if not the user themselves. Links must be working.

Algolope are a closed species. They are not free to make without already having gained a genotype. To get started please read [Newbie Guide].

Selling Your Genos and Algolopes

If you're selling kits from a litter you received, or imports (approved and uploaded designs), you may charge in any form or currency, and at a price you feel is reasonable, excluding Cryptocurrency or NFT. This includes selling designs for cash, art, Activity Rolls, or trading for items, other genos, ect.  The group does not have any part of private member sales and trades. Do not sell any Algolope you do not own, and if you  notice any suspicious behavior please note the group and avoid making any trades. All Genotypes (Genos) and Approved Designs (Imports) should either have an admin proof comment on the Breeding Request Thread or be an official Approved and Uploaded Design (Import) with the owner matching the seller.

Free starters from the group opening (2017) cannot be sold or traded, only gifted or returned to the group. These starters are marked with * or have the following disclaimer on their import registration: 

`This is a Starter Giveaway Geno. It may not be sold, traded, or transferred for personal profit or gain. This Algolope may only be  gifted (with nothing in return) or returned to the Adoption Center. Offspring of this Algolope may be sold or traded, no restrictions.`

Fundraiser Algos from Fundraiser Coins can only be sold for max $15 or equivalent.  Any other common imports for $5. (Prior to 2018 sales)

Please do not co-own any designs as this can cause conflicts and confusion within the group. While it is acceptable to draw artwork of another members Algolope, and actually encouraged, only 1 person will be listed as owner, and problems associated with "co-owning" will be favored on half of the person listed as the official design owner.

Minimum AR pricing is $10 = 1 AR. +$5 per additional AR or Algolope in the same submission. You may charge more.
Activity Rolls or 'AR' are any art or literature created to reward loot or some manner of roll in the group. Generally activities have a minimum art or literature requirement to be valid, for artwork this is 1 Algolope  featured, fully colored and shaded, with complex background, or 1000 word literature.
Up to 3 Algolope may be featured in a work, with the recommended minimum price the work should be at least $20  for 3 AR.

Minimal Commission Pricing: This minimum price also applies to general art and writing commissions. Members offering Commissions for artwork or literature may charge any amount above the minimum. Including doing 'Your Character Here', 'YCH' images, pagedolls or other artworks not for rolls.

Design Customs must start at $10, edits for small items may be priced at $5 (Item edits that are no larger than an algolopes head) but must otherwise be valued at at least $10 for any edits larger than the specified size.

Exception: Free giveaways hosted on the Discord: you may offer freebie artwork, literature, or other 'gift' type requests for no charge. You may also offer free designs to practice making designs, but these must be based on official genotypes a user has.

We have minimum pricing to encourage fair payment for artists and writers for their time and effort. Algolope admins and staff do not receive a portion of user proceeds unless they themselves are the user offering the service.

Account Rules:

1a. You may only use One (1) Account in the ARPG, you may have any number of algolopes and  riders, and may participate in both Tamed and Wild aspects of the game with the same account.
b.  If you wish to use another account, such as an ARPG specific account you must note the group to transfer your items and Algolopes.

2. Any user found to be making multiple accounts to get additional items or rewards, or otherwise cheat in the game will be banned. No Exceptions.

3a. Accounts must be at least 1 month old to participate in the ARPG.

b. If you moved from an old account and wish to transfer your bank and algolopes,  you must note the group via the old account,  or comment via that old account to transfer your bank to your new account via the [Treasure Chest Bank]. Your game bank will be opened with the account you prefer. 

c. If you do not wish to note or comment via the old account, (Anonymous Transfer) such as the case of entirely abandoning an account, you must wait the required 1 month for your preferred account to be eligible. You agree that by not transferring your account via Note or public comment, any old bank items will become inaccessible, including Algolope Imports and genos tied to the old account. You cannot transfer your prior account's items, Algolope, or bank without noting the group from that old account, nor may you use, sell or trade items or slots without those items being properly transferred and credited as owned by the new account.

Transferred accounts, known or anonymous accounts, may not adopt an Algolope from the adoption center, nor participate in any First Time Owner (FTO) activities and events if one was adopted on the prior account. Should you be found to do so, even with a new and unaffiliated account from your prior, this would be an infraction against Account Rule 1a and may result in a indefinite ban or strike. It is recommended and in best practice to transfer your account or notify the group of your new account even if you do not wish to transfer anything.

Discord Rules

1. Be civil and keep controversial topics out of chat. No discussion of religion, politics or other sensitive topics.

2. No text to speech,  excessive spamming, or excessive posting of links.

3. Absolutely no NSFW posts, links or references.

4. Respect all members, admins and staff. 

5. No self-depreciation comments. Respect yourself.

6. Advertisements may only be bumped once per 24 hours. Excessive bumping of Discord threads, such as bumping your ad by replying to it, or linking back to an ad posted within 24 hours or posting over another persons ad will receive a strike. Ads may only be posted in the appropriate channel under the 'Market' category.
Advertisements related to Algolopes may use the #selling, #buying, or #trades channels. Miscellaneous or other Advertisements and Commissions may be posted in the #advertisements channel.

7. Keep channels on topic! While less strict on this, you shouldn't be posting artwork or a ton of links in #general. Other ARPG art or sharing can be done in #other-ARPG. 

8. Do not belittle or complain about other ARPG! You can share your imports but otherwise commentary on other ARPG events or activities should be kept positive or neutral. 

9. Do not compare Algolopes to other ARPG, or vise-versa. Each ARPG has its own rules, guides and activities, making an ARPG takes a lot of work, time and dedication, and it can be difficult for ARPG founders and staff to receive negative comparisons or complains without constructive criticism. There is a place in our ARPG for feedback, you can use #suggestions in Discord or see our Anonymous Feedback form in [Feedback and Suggestions].

10. All discussion and chats should be in English for moderation purposes.
Discussion of other languages is fine, such as help with translations,  but the primary conversation should remain in English.

Your account must be at least 1 month old to join! You must link your Deviantart (DA) account to participate as a member, you may link your Toyhouse (TH) and remain a watcher. Activities and group functions are currently only supported on Deviantart at this time.

Our Rules or Terms and Conditions may be updated at any time, with or without notice. Use of our platforms after updates constitutes your agreement to these Terms. If you disagree with any future changes you may discontinue participation in our game.

By participating in our ARPG you agree to be bound by our terms and conditions outlined above. Our rules apply to all users, on all platforms future and current.
