Design Approvals and Updates

Design approvals is where you submit geno designs for approval and upload to the masterlist account, or to get import artwork or information changes made!
You can also submit design updates here, such as import updates via items, information change requests, or import transfers to another user.

Only 1 design per comment, be sure to complete the entire form or your submission will be declined!

Make sure you have the Import Info completed and added to the description of your link!

Design Approvals is occasionally open via our Discord in #design-approvals, you can also ask questions related to designs in #design-questions or have a precheck done in #design-prechecks. These channels do not skip the que. We process from oldest to newest on both Deviantart and Discord. See footnote for detailed information.

Designs in discord that have not updated in over 1 week will be noted with 🚫 and must be posted to #design-corrections instead. Admins will not reply on old thread.

Common Issues:

File Size:
Make sure that the stash is set to 'Original', 2700 x 1500 px otherwise we cannot view the design properly and you'll receive a correction comment.
Coloring Lines:
Lines should be darker than what they sit on, as well as being a related color to the underlying color. Make sure if you color the lines that they are not too bright or saturated. White should be cream, not pinks if not sitting on pink skin for example.

Extras and Accents:
Lips and Skin - Should always be visible in some way, natural to the design (not too saturated) and either darker or lighter than what it sits on.
Mouth Color - Can not be black, should match the top (darker) eye color, or be a natural color such as pinks, liver or brown.
Accents - All accents should be 1 color and not shaded. The color should not be picked from the highlight spot on the eye, and instead the darker portion (pupil color/actual eye color).
Eyes - Should be vibrant, bright and colorful, or otherwise a natural color. Cannot be Black, White, Gray or appear visually too dark. Darker colors are reserved for Melanism mutation.  Eyes cannot be pink/red/lilac if not albino or lilac coat.

Note* If choosing blue, it should be light blue and not dark blue or navy. Eyes can be neon blue, cyan, teal etc as those are bright and colorful, think Husky or Cat eye colors, not deep sea whale.

Design Corrections:

Do not delete old designs until the new design is either approved or a correction comment posted. You must link to a prior version otherwise you must submit to Design Approvals all over again!

Base Transfers Old Designs 

Updating from the old base to the new base is free and never requires any items, however you will need to choose one of two options. Algos must be on the new base in order to be used in the group.

1. Grandfathered Design - The design remains the same even if the rules changed for the markings.  The Genotype will change. Marking rarities may change and some markings may have been removed, the genotype will be adjusted to the grandfathered design, this includes the coat color strings and dilution.
2. Updated Design - You update the design, the phenotype will change,  and you have to follow the current guides. For removed markings like Unders you can freely replace with 1 other common marking. Coat color may change to new guides.

Note*
Unders may be replaced with any common gene, be sure to specify if you do so. You may still keep the 'Skin' Layers colored as unders was on the design, but it cannot extend into the fur. Unders is now a free mark.

Discord Approvals and Prechecks:
On occasion we will do Design Pre-checks as well as Approvals via Discord. Often this is if the site que is low or caught up. Discord approvals is not meant to be a place to circumvent wait times, and older design approval requests will be prioritized. Approvals still apply with 2 weeks wait time, potentially more if the que is large.

All forms should be completed in their entirety even on discord.
