Exploring is the most common activity all Algolopes can participate in once they reach Adept Rank, whether Wild or Tamed. Riders and Starters are not required and up to three Algos can be featured per artwork or writing. Exploration is general artworks showing the algolope exploring, playing or interacting with their world, finding an array of items, companions, materials and possibly unique quests. Most of which are useful for crafting or selling, or even developing your algos story.
All explorations can reward a small amount of currency, a chance at rng rolls, as well as a RP activity Bonus of +1.
- Must feature a clear location and the Algolope must be interacting with the world, each other, or scenery. Exploration is not a 'farming' activity and low effort works will be rejected. We do not accept sticker-style, or grid activity submissions and each exploration should be uniquely created, but may feature a similar area.
Consider [Training] to increase an algolope's [Stats]. Stats affect outcomes of players choices in Encounters.
Rules:
Exploring images must depict fullbody or 6+ sections of the Algolope. You can review sizing guides on the [Rank Points] page.
At minimum the drawing must be fullbody flat colored, cleanly sketched, with at least a simple background. (9 RP base points)
Literature submissions must be at least 800 words per algolope, with an additional +400 words per extra algolope. (8 Rp base points)
If you are training the max of 3 algolopes, your word count must be at least 1600 (800 base +400 words each additional Algo). With Guide, Word count must be 2000)
You may mix-n-match art/literature for submissions to meet the minimum of 8 RP. For example you may draw a partial body, colored with simple background, earning 4RP, and then add 400 words to meet the 8RP base requirements.
We encourage exploring art and writing styles, and may use discretion when judging complex posing, perspective or when details are put in other locations vs the background meeting the plane and elements requirements. See 'Rendering' in [Rank Points] Guide.
All Submissions must include the following form for each Algolope featured:

- There is a 70% chance of getting an RNG roll per algolope in exploration, with a 30% fail rate. RNG odds can be improved with companions, items, or potions.
There is a maximum of 3 rolls per submission, per algolope, up to 9 total rolls. (3 max algolope), these include the following:
Gold (Currency) - 35% - Up to 100 gold
Encounter - 35% - Encounters with humanoids, friendly NPC, or other prompts to continue exploration. Encounters can include small handwritten prompts or keywords to influence your next work, but using these encounters is optional. Some encounters may involve Quests, which will list required stats, or give a set of prompts to respond to.
Companion Find - 5% - Chance for that locations companion to join you.
Algolope Encounter - 35% - You run into a feral, wild or tamed algolope that can be convinced to join your pack or claimed, there is a chance for failure and all encounters are not guaranteed to be claimed. [Roaming Algolopes]
Item Drop - 45% - Standard items and loot rolls. Includes food items.
Potion Drop - 20% - Potions with various effects.
Danger Encounter - 20% - An encounter that can reduce the Con of the affected algolope, and may require healing. Danger encounters require another submission to resolve, either by winning a fight, fleeing or avoiding injury. These encounters can involve humanoids, algolopes, or even fauna and dangerous flora of the region.
Decoration Drop - 15% - Chance for decor items, armor, or other cosmetic or import editing items.
Food - 30% - Food items, plants, meat cubes etc
Weather Event - 10% Weather event that can be used for future responses, small chance to harm Con.
---
Seasonal Loot - 40% - Depends on the season but all submissions for Seasonal Events will include a seasonal loot roll on top of the initial 3 rolls. Seasonal Loot can include seasonal items, companions, special encounters, as well as currency.
We'll use this result roll, you'll receive these in comments on the submission, with the name of the affected Algolope taking the place of Gan, our testing Algo. In this example , the exploration was a success, Gan found an Encounter!
This encounter involves another Algolope, a Kit female with an injury and your Algos thoughts on the situation.
To proceed with this encounter you simply make another art or lit submission using this as a guideline. How you write or draw your Algo interacting is up to you, you can even choose to do nothing and leave that Algolope behind.
Once you make a response, if applicable, Admins will reply with the results, such as if the Algolope left, joined or needed more convincing.
The same is true for Danger encounters, as well as regular encounters that prompt to make an art or lit response.
Some results, such as Gold, Item, or Food finds don't need any response. If that's what you got, you simply have to continue your Algolopes story to get new rolls.
Another prompt is Weather, weather is some flavor text, with good and bad weather. Good weather awards an item and bad weather takes up a roll slot. To proceed you can just keep these as suggestions or draw or write about your Algolope in the elements to continue (depicting the rolled weather does award a weather stone).
The main idea of Explorations is not to grind for loot or rewards, but to explore your character's personalities, histories and stories in their world. Rolls are just a bonus to that.
You can reply to a maximum of 2 Rolls or Events in your next response. If you are super lucky and find 3 Algolope for example, you'd have to respond to two of three first, and maybe stack that encounter with another roll, such as a pending weather event.
Exploration allows claiming wild/stray Algolope, and to prevent breaks in stories or submission story lines, they may be featured unofficially in works.
Unclaimed Algos do not add to Wordcount, nor do past submissions earn RP if they are claimed. Claimed but undesigned algolopes may also be featured, with no addition to wordcount or recount of RP once designed and uploaded.
Have a claimed and uploaded algo?
You can featured claimed algolope once approved and uploaded for RP in explorations, however they cannot get loot rolls until ranked up to Adept and unlocking Exploration. This is to allow members to continue submissions featuring their new companions. Submissions made before upload date will not be counted for RP.
Quick Reference:
Unclaimed/Undesigned = no word count increase, No retroactive RP points earned for submissions made before the uploaded date.
designed and uploaded
Claimed/Undesigned = no word count increase, No retroactive RP points earned for submissions made before the uploaded date.
designed and uploaded
Claimed/Designed and Uploaded = Word count increases, gains RP for explorations they are featured in, no loot rolls until ADEPT. No retroactive RP points earned for submissions made before the uploaded date.
Like other Activities, Rank Points should be counted and posted to your google sheet tracker, as well as the image accepted into the group, before you submit your Exploration for Rolls.

All rolls are per individual Algolope, so if you own more than one, be sure to list them in separate comments. Including forms for more than one submission or Algo will be declined.
If other members' Algolope are featured, they must link and provide the information of their own algos in order to have the results rolled.
All Exploration entries also count for Rp, and earn and extra +1 Rp. Please read Rank Points for more info on earning Rp.
