Algolope come in a variety of colors, the most common being the Pure colors, which form all other colorations. Those colors are Chocolate, White, and Black.
Colors are set up in this order: Cc/Ww/Bb/ followed by Dilution (DD/Dd/dd) and then the genes.
C = Chocolate, W = White, B = Black, D = Dense, or the dilution, where Dd is a dilute carrier, dd is dilute and DD is not dilute or Dense.
You can save the files here to color pick. One color should be used for the base coat when designing your algolope, but it can be any color present on the 'swatch'.
Black (BB/Bb) - No Chocolate or White. ex: cc/ww/Bb or cc/ww/BB
Chocolate (CC/Cc) - No white or Black. ex: Cc/ww/bb or CC/ww/bb
White (WW/Ww) - No Chocolate or Black. ex: cc/WW/bb or cc/Ww/bb
When these colors are mixed they often produce secondary colors such as Tan, Silver, Creme and Bay.
Tan - No Black. ex: Cc/Ww/bb , CC/Ww/bb, Cc/WW/bb
Silver - No Chocolate. ex: cc/Ww/Bb, cc/Ww/BB, cc/WW/Bb
Buckskin - No White. ex: Cc/ww/Bb , CC/ww/Bb , Cc/ww/BB
Creme - No Black. Both Chocolate and White Dominant. ex: CC/WW/bb
Steel - No Chocolate (formerly part of Silver) Both White and Black dominant. ex: cc/WW/BB
Platinum - No White (formerly part of Buckskin) Both Chocolate and Black dominant. ex: CC/ww/BB
Grullo - All colors Present. ex: Cc/Ww/Bb
Bay - All Colors Dominant. ex: CC/WW/BB
A color that lacks a dominant color gene results in Strawberry.
Strawberry - No Dominant Color. ex: cc/ww/bb
After those Colors are the Dilutions. Dilutions are expressed if the genotype has 'dd' in it.
Prior to 2025, dilutions were only expressed on the following colors: Chocolate, Black and Tan. As of July 2025, any prior genotypes or designs that were 'non-expressed' dilution but had 'dd' now are 'Dd', and a [Dilution Token] will be applied to that account on design approval for use with another undesigned genotype, to make that design a dilution carrier, but the token cannot make than genotype a dilute.
Prior dilution guide:
Dilute Chocolate = Lilac, Dilute Black = Blue, and Dilute Tan = Red. All other colors that contain dilution (dd) are non-expressed dilutes. Non-expressed dilutes may still show the Merle gene.
All dilutions can be found here, below is the three currently available dilutions.
Blue - (cc/ww/Bb/dd or cc/ww/BB/dd)
Lilac - (Cc/ww/bb/dd or CC/ww/bb/dd)
Red - Cc/Ww/bb/dd, CC/Ww/bb/dd, Cc/Ww/bb/dd)
Coat Mutations:
The following mutations override the phenotype color and an algo should instead use the specific coat mutation palettes provided. On any of the following coat mutations markings may be hidden or present, although they must use the palette provided and retain all markings rules such as lighter or darker than the base coat.
A mutation that removes all pigmentation from an Algolope and give them pink or lilac eyes.
White or slightly pink tinted offwhites can also be used.
A mutation that turns the coat a reddish coloration, hiding black pigment. Eyes become amber or orange in appearance.
A mutation that turns the coat a cream or offwhite coloration, often confused for albino. Leucistic algos do not have red, pink or lilac eyes but can be 'blue eyed-whites', or present any other color.
A mutation that darkens the coat and markings to near black or a dark reddish black. Similar to what is found in black panthers.
