Mutations are split up into Three categories, Physical, Color, and Inbred.
Physical Mutations affect the conformity of an Algolope and add stat bonuses. Color Mutations affect the base colors of an Algolope, or how many genotypes are expressed, and Inbred mutations are the result of Inbreeding related Algolope.
Some Inbreeding results in stat deductions, limit activities that may be participated in, or make the Algolope infertile.
Melanism
Melanism covers all markings and darkens the overall appearance of the Algolopes coat. most markings aside from Droplet, tiger and Leopard barely show through. These genes are often only slightly darker than the coat. The coats color is determined by the melanism color slider. Melanistic Algolope have dark eyes, usually brown, and the skin and paws on the animal are always dark. Melanism is a rare mutation that may not carry to offspring, or may show up even if parents don’t seem to carry it.
Albinism
Albinism is the opposite of Melanism, Albino Algolope lack pigment in their skin and eyes, often having pale or light pink skin, as well as red, lilac or pink eyes. Albinism is a rare mutation that may not carry to offspring, or may show up even if parents don’t seem to carry it. Algolope with Blue eyes are not considered albino, and are often called Bew’s, or Blue Eyed Whites, true albino Algolope are often called Rew’s, or Red Eyed Whites. Blue eyed whites are leucistic algolope. Markings should be very faint or not visible at all on Albinos.
Chimera
When an animal exhibits two genotypes in it's body as a result of absorbing another in development. Often exhibited as a split in the body or patch-work markings, often in a checkered pattern
.

Heterochromia (bi-colored eyes)
This mutation affects the colors of eyes, similar to piebald, as any area where white or pigmentless skin touches the eye, it will be blue. With Heterochromia the eyes may be any color, not just blue. Heterochromia affects the entire eye.
Heterochromia can be the following types: True (each eye is a solid color), sectoral (A shard-like intrusion of another color), or central (the inner area of the eye near the pupil is colored differently.)

Leucism
Leucistic animals are often lacking pigments much like albinos, or with lighter coat coloration than a non-leucistic animal. Often lightens the pelt, or yellows it. Leucistic animals should not have pink or red eyes. The coats color is determined by the base color, you may use the bottom gradient slider on the respective color slider for leucistic colors. In general, black turns brownish, tan to a light creme beige, and all other colors to an off-white.
Vitiligo
Vitiligo is a cobweb like pigment loss, it often expands across an animals body as they age, leaving pigmentless areas.
Vitiligo often concentrates around the eyes, lips and soft skin areas of an algolope, such as the belly and underside of the tail, but it may be present on the topline or even the forelegs and shoulder patches as well.
Example TBA
Physical mutations can vary greatly, but they generally affect things such as horns, pupils, tails, the paws and legs, as well as the stinger's of Algolope.
Currently discovered Physical mutations:
♦ Large Fangs "Saberfang" : The canines of the animal have adapted to be longer and stronger than the regular tooth.
[+3 str]
♦ Regression "000 mutation": Regression is when an Algolope is born exhibiting traits more consistent with it's ancestors. Regression or 000 Mutation animals are highly aggressive, stubborn, and difficult to handle. They are prone to attacking inexperienced trainers and handlers, and even other Algolope.

♦ Odd Horns : Adds horns not commonly found on Algolopes. Females can present horns with this mutation. [+2 str]
♦ Mutated Stinger: The stinger takes on a different shape. [+2 str, +1 dex, +1 agi]
♦ Feathered: The algos fur is mixed with feathers. [+2 spd, +1 Con, +3 Dex, +2 Agi]
♦ Forked Tounge: The tounge is forked like a reptile. [+1 Int]
♦ Long Claws - The claws grow, forming more fearsome natural weapons. [+3 str]
♦ Vestigial Wings: The algolope adopts wings from its heritage, though they are incapable of flight they may glide. [+3 Spd, +5 Sta]
♦ Scales : The algos fur is replaced with scales. [+4 Str, +3 Con, +1 Agi, +1 Sta, +1 Int]
♦ Raptor Claws: [+2 Str, +1 Spd, +1 Dex]
♦ Odd Pupils: No known benefit but their eyes sure look odd.
*There is a large chance that inbreeding will result in empty litters or stillborns! Inbreed at your own risk!
Inbred Algolope cannot participate in most events, nor may they Race!
Any stats that fall below 1 result in death! ((Stats will be rolled prior to posting geno in breeding))
Malformed Spine While this mutation might not be overly apparent, it greatly affects the health of the Algolope.
[Str -2][Spd -1][Con -2][Dex-1][Agi -1][Sta -2]
Malformed Stinger Often something wrong with the fundamentals of the stinger greatly affect hunting ability. These animals cannot fish or hunt, though they may scavenge, explore, and dungeoneer.
[Str -1][Dex -1]
Blindness A blind Algolope can be trained to hunt and fish, though it may not participate in dungeons. Blind Algolope require special training before they can hunt. fish or scavenge.
[Dex -1][Agi -1][Con -1]
Brittle Bones This health defect often results in death as Algolope with Brittle bones are very frail and easily injured. They are banned from all activities.
[Con -4]
Infertility An infertile Algolope can simply not be bred, even with fertility boosting items. They receive no other stat deductions and may participate in all activities aside from Racing.
Deafness A deaf Algolope cannot hear at all, and thus has great difficulties when it comes to hunting, fishing, and scavenging, though they may receive special training to do so.
[Dex -1][Agi -1][Con -1]
Training Deaf and Blind Algolope.
If you wish to have a blind or deaf Algolope hunt, fish or scavenge, you must complete the following special training.
Requirements:
Fullbody colored and shaded with a simple background, with rider or group starter present. (6 Rp)
or
600 words written, rider or group starter must be present. (6 Rp)
Sound/Sight Conditioning: A blind Algolope must be taught to rely on their hearing to hunt, while a deaf algo must rely on their sight. Draw or write about training the animal to better use the respective sense.
Trial Run: A Blind or Deaf Algolope must complete 2 trial runs, these trials will not be rolled for items. They will be testing out a mock hunt, or having a generally unsuccessful effort, but what's important is learning to identify their prey, how to locate fish or to navigate the terrain by their other senses.
First Hunt: The first official hunt for a Deaf or Blind Algolope. Must only go after small or medium game or fishing in a small creek, brook or pond. This Training will be rolled for hunting or fishing.
Once all the special training is complete, link them in the training section of your Algolope's Import, and then comment [HERE] to have it made official.
