Overo

(OvOv/nOv) Overo

Overo is a white marking that starts on the sides of the algolope and spreads out. Overo does not cross the spine or back of the algolope between the shoulders and the tail unless combined with Tobiano to create 'Tovero'. At least one and often all four legs are regular colored (No white) and the markings are often irregular, splashy and scattered. Overo is another gene that can cause a white bald face marking, large splash or bonnet markings, similar to Splash. Eyes are usually blue, but do not need white touching to be blue. OvOV is generally fatal and known as Lethal white, there is a 10% chance offspring survive with this gene and these Algolope are always Infertile and referred to as 'Dominant White'. Revese Overo turns the white marking to black.

(nOv) Single Allele

With a single allele carrier the image below represents the Maximum area of overo as well as  well as the minimum Overo spot size, though the patch of Overo can be anywhere in the Maximum ranges and there can be multiple sections. Extensive Overo can have holes in the marking or free floating white spots.

Overo generally does not affect the neck, but in extensive Overo a small portion may be white, in addition it does not affect the legs, chest or tail. Overo may have mapping edges.

(OvOv) Lethal White // Dominant White
OvOv is often fatal, with only a 10% chance of offspring surviving and the resulting Kit being Infertile. Lethal White Algolopes are entirely or near entirely white, much like Albinism and show no markings aside from potentially some base coat at the topline. Eyes do not show as pink or red, and may be any color or blue. 

Variation:

Overo can have it's own nuance, showing pink or skin tones in thin fur areas.

• Overo sits above all markings and can layer or combine with other white marks.

• Overo can cover a small portion of the neck in extensive coverage (Where Overo fills the majority of the Maximum Range)

• Overo can have fur texture on furred areas and small spots seperated from the larger cluster.

• Overo is affected by Reversal, turning the marking dark or black. Reversed Overo sits underneath all other White Marks.

• The Bald Face pattern is optional, and can include holes and irregular shapes, as well as be asymmetrical.
