Piebald

(PbPb/nPb/- ) Piebald

A White marking covering the natural color of the coat, often leaving asymmetrical spots or splotches. Piebald is similar to broken white seen in rabbits, with coverage at least 50% of the algolope's body, up to 80% (About two heads worth of color left). Max coverage often leaves small patches of the base coat on the face, side or rump, and with the ears mostly unaffected.  Skin is often pink in coloration where it overlaps the white, and if white touches the eyes, they can show as blue or have non-mutation sectoral heterochromia.

Piebald differs from the other white marks in that it can also create odd white shapes, such as free floating blobs of white or little speckle or irregular edges. Piebald can also be soft or hard edged and with mapping.

Reverse Piebald turns the white to black. 

(nPb) Single Allele and Double Allele

Piebald has no range difference.

(nPb) Piebald vs (nDal) Dalmatian
Only one of these genes can show in a design, the phenotype will be adjusted to show 'Carries' for the marking not show.  See Dalmatian.

Variation:

Piebald can be offwhite or slightly tinted based on the base coat but should visually read as white. 

• Piebald sits above all other markings, even Reverse Piebald.

• Piebald almost always affects all four limbs, though they can also have small holes in them.

• Piebald can have fur texture on furred areas.

• Where Piebald touches skin the color can be pink.

• The forelegs can be white, partially affected by Pied or fully  colored via Pigeon Mark.

• The holes in Piebald are true holes and not spots, thus underlying markings show through.

• Reverse Piebald turns the marking black or darker than the base coat.
