September 2024 has 3 distinguishable Pokemon leagues above the rest: Krookodile, Slowking-Galar, and Starmie. These pokemon are the three musketeers of September24 and can work in a plethora of ways. In response to the Big 3, a (normally) defensive ZU mono-bug type in Spidops started running offensive sets with First Impression to force Starmie and Krookodile out; Spidop's usage was so high it even surpassed Clodsire, Glimmora and Hatterene, which were all OU ranked. September24 has a very diverse pool of niche Pokemon such as Manectric, Bellibolt, Arctibax or even Simisage. Weather was also present in the form of Politoed (joe) setting rain and Slowking-Galar setting snow. The best rain abusers include Basculin, Beartic, Starmie and Armaldo. The best snow abusers include Beartic, Sandslash-Alola and Arctibax. It's also important to mention September24 lacks any ghost types which allows snow teams more leisure in the hazard department. September24 is a naturally fast paced metagame with offensive threats dominating the meta. Despite this, September24's tournament had high use of bulky balance teams, especially present in the finals with only 1 team including the meta dominating Krookodile, and 10/10 teams including Mudsdale and Politoed and 7/10 teams including Slowking-Galar alongside other bulky Pokemon like Rotom-Fan. Whether it's certain team styles, niche Pokemon, or the environment, September2024 has something for everyone, and is worth trying out.
