Analysis

In 35Pokes February, Morpeko has lacked the results and the success to truly shine. However, as an offensive spinner, unlike his competition in Mr. Rime, he has the niche of threatening all relevant spinblockers in Ceruledge and Houndstone. Aditionally, Morpeko is able to pressure the relevant hazard setters, relevantly Skarmory, Quagsire with Seed Bomb and can try to slot in Stomping Tantrum for Golem and Clodsire. It's also important to note its ability to deal with tier staples such as Ceruledge and Primarina. It can also help deal with Serperior in case of emergency as Aura Wheel can break Substitute and Knock Off can remove Leftovers on the following turn. Morpeko enjoys teaming up with Snorlax, that appreciates the removal of hazards provided, while baiting in pokemon like Skarmory that Morpeko enjoys abusing, while checking the otherwise irritating Nidoqueen. Flash Fire Balloon Ceruledge is another option that does well on Morpeko teams, as he enjoys the absence of Stealth Rocks and is able to flip the Paldean Tauros matchup, one that is very problematic for Morpeko, while enjoying Morpeko's ability to cripple Primarina and Quagsire. Morpeko has a plethra of weaknesses, the most problematic of all being its lackluster base stat total, particularly in its bulk, as well as the inconsistency of running Aura Wheel as its sole electric STAB. It also suffers from the fact it cannot switch into much due to not having any immunity or bulk.
