With a great 105 base attack and Tough Claws, Barbaracle is a very threatening sweeper if set up correctly with Shell Smash. Barbaracle outspeeds even incredibly fast mons like H-Electrode after a Shell Smash. Barbaracle can sweep a team if not prepared, and it even can OHKO Defensive Vaporeon w/ Stone Edge after Stealth Rock damage. Screens are also helpful for Barbaracle to set up. For these reasons, Bronzong is a good partner as it has access to both screens and Stealth Rock. There are few mons that beat Barbaracle, an example of one is Scarf Alakazam + Energy Ball. Granbull can try help to stop Barbaracle with Intimidate. Barbaracle fails against Hitmonlee, as Unburden w/ Fake out + w/ Normal Gem allows it to outspeed and kill Barbaracle. Unboosted Barbaracle really struggles against H-Electrode, w/ Leaf Storm OHKOing under Light Screen.

Liquidation is a strong 100% accurate STAB move that gets boosted by Tough Claws. Stone Edge is STAB with 100 base power, but it is only 80% accurate. Cross Chop is a strong coverage made with the same base power and accuracy as Stone Edge. Earthquake can also be used. Life Orb boosts Barbaracles power even more, and Lum Berry stops any Thunder Waves from hindering Barbaracle.
