Introduction
Hitmonlee is a strong physical mon in the tier that can outspeed and break through a team when played with good positioning. With an amazing 120 attack stat and a boost in speed with Unburden, it is sure to create some cracks in your team. There are almost no Pokemon in the tier that can safely switch in to Hitmonlee, with mons like Vaporeon getting 2HKOd by High Jump Kick after SR damage. One of the few exceptions is Granbull, which can deter Hitmonlee with Intimidate and resists most of Hitmonlees attacks. Some niche sets exist, like Rocky Helmet. The main idea of Rocky Helmet is to predict a Knock Off and get chip and Unburden for free.
Sets
Hitmonlee (M) @ Normal Gem
Ability: Unburden
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
Fake Out
Close Combat / High Jump Kick
Knock Off
Earthquake/Poison Jab
This is probably Hitmonlees most common set. Fake Out + Normal Gem is used to trigger Unburden, which makes it outspeed every mon in the tier without boosts. Close Combat is a base 120 STAB move, which can hit neutrals with a lot of damage. Alternatively, High Jump Kick can be used, however it is risky especially with H-Zoroark running around in the meta. Knock Off ensures that mons like Alakazam and Bronzong cannot safely switch into Hitmonlee. Earthquake and Poison Jab are common 4th moves, with Poison Jab used to counter Granbull.
