Film Shadows and Reflections

Artist Statement

AS our 4th project on film came we had to take photos inspired by a certain shadow and/or reflection. I chose the reflection part. I came up with this idea when taking my dog out on an extremely sunny day. It had the perfect lighting for this photo. After going through the developing the film into negatives I realized how good this photo was, so I chose to enlarge it. During the enlarging process I used an aperture of f8 with a light exposure of 6 seconds (3 clicks in 2 second increments. Then brought it over to the developing solution and did 1 minute developer, 5 seconds water, 10 seconds stop, 5 seconds water, 1-2 minutes fix, water rinse and then dryer. I think this photo is a good capture of a reflection image, and that the lighting was perfect, and it's blurry in all the right spots and I think I did a great job capturing this photo. The one downside is that I wish i exposed it a little bit more just to make it a little darker.
