Clone Stamp and Overlays

Artist Statement

So for this Project, everyone had the task of making an overlayed image using a blend feature on photoshop as well as use the clone stamp tool to remove and unnecessary object or thing in that particular photo. For the overlayed image, I needed to take 2 photos and put them on top of each other and use a blending tool to make them seem as if they were one image. For the clone stamp project I needed to use the Clone stamp, the tool, and remove pieces of the image to create a seamless background while removing unnecessary objects in them. With the clone stamp tool I removed such things as the orange tape to left, my backpack in the corner, the three pieces of paper to left, and the yellow lines on the basketball court. For the overlay image I used a picture I took right before school on monday when the sun was rising, and a picture of Nick Signorelli during lunch. I copied nick onto the sunrise, cut out his body, and use the light color blend tool to make him look like he was in the sky. For the Clone stamp image I particularly used that image because I thought it was a good image with the motion blur that added the effect of him driving to the hoop, but I took out the tape, because I thought that it was messy and sloppy, and didn't and effect to the image so I took that out, also with the papers, i took those out because they didn't seem to have any effect on the overall image. I also took out my backpack to the right of the image to have a cleaner look and not have a random backpack in the way. For the overlay image I chose those 2 images because I liked the foggy morning picture a lot by itself and I knew I could use it in many different ways and could generate a lot of cool, interesting picture, I also used the picture of nick because when I took the picture, I need i could create something cool and unique. When I blended them It looked like nick was god in the clouds, looking over the city of Freeport.

I really like both the images, but the "Noggy Sug" picture is my favorite, just because I thought I captured what I saw in my head really well. The only thing I would change about that image is maybe flip nick around so he is upright. The Clone stamp came out nice but I really wish that I took out the light box to the right of nick. I think this project really gave me a grasp of photoshop, yet I am no expert, but it did give me some experience for next time to create something better, and more unique, as well as cleaner.
