Artist Statement

AS our last photography of the year/semester we had to take a photo with a high amount of detail/macro in a way. As an example was shown in class I took after that and took a similar photo. The photo that was shown in class was of a telephone pole that was covered in staples. This, in a way, captures the same idea. I thought it looked extremely pleasing because of the rusted numbers as well as the details in the wood grain and cracks. For this photo I used a 2.5 contact filter at an aperture of f8 and an exposure time of 6 seconds. I really really like this photo just because of the uniqueness of it as well as the details portrayed in it. I really wish that I would have cropped it a little more to make everything a little closer to the lens and cut out all the unnecessary background that was caught in a photobomb.
