FleetCommander Frequently Asked Questions
Key Kiosk
When is the key kiosk available?
The key kiosk is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Where is the key kiosk located?
The key kiosk is located on the 3rd floor of the north side of the building (HQR1).
It can be accessed through the hallway located between the east elevators and stairwell in the vestibule #359, leading to the 4th floor of the parking garage where the fleet vehicles are found.
Selecting a Vehicle
What vehicle should I select?
Reserve a vehicle that's appropriate for the task.
If you're going alone to a meeting on the front range in the summer, you probably don't need a large SUV.
If you're going to Durango in December with three other people and your luggage, you probably won't fit everyone and their belongings in a Chevy Bolt -- and you might need 4WD.
If you don't need the big SUV, leave it for someone who does.
Try out one of the smaller, more fuel efficient vehicles. You might actually like them!
Vehicle Pickup
When can I pick up my keys?
You can pick up the keys and vehicle 15 minutes before your reservation begins.
Where can I find my parking spot number?
The parking spot number is listed on the red plastic fuel card pocket attached to the key ring.

Vehicle Return
Where do I return my vehicle?
Return your vehicle to the same parking spot that it was taken from.
Keys are assigned to the kiosk cabinet based on these parking spot numbers.
Returning a vehicle to the wrong spot will confuse the next customer.
Should I make any notes when I return my vehicle?
Record the vehicle's mileage.
Note the vehicle's fuel level.
Document any damage to the vehicle.
Tip: Take a picture of the vehicle's dashboard with your phone when you park it in its designated parking spot.
Where do I return the keys?
Take the keys back to the key kiosk.
Failure to return the keys means that the vehicle is not available for the next person.
In this instance, the Motor Pool Team will be forced to track you down to retrieve the vehicle's keys.
Should I return the car with fuel?
Whenever possible, please return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel.
What do I do with an electric vehicle?
Plug the electric vehicle into the charging station when arriving back at HQR1.

Tolls & Traffic Violations
Who pays for tolls?
You work unit is responsible for paying for tolls and will be charged back if toll roads are used.
Avoid toll roads unless there is an operational need to use a toll road.
Who pays for traffic violations?
The driver of the fleet vehicle is responsible for traffic violations.
CDOT will not pay for violations such as speeding tickets.
