Computer Aided Drafting & Design Training
CDOT Computer Aided Drafting & Design utilizes Bentley’s MicroStation and OpenRoads software along with internally developed tools and procedures. Following standardized procedures will help facilitate the exchange of information between CDOT regions, specialty groups, and consultants working on CDOT projects.
Enrollment for CADD Training is managed in the SOC Learns Training Portal. To receive notifications about upcoming CADD training, please add your email address to the appropriate tab of the CADD Support Mail List.

OpenRoads Designer Information
CDOT will be using Bentley Systems ProjectWise and OpenRoads Designer software on all new projects effective immediately. ProjectWise is a Bentley Systems, Incorporated software package that serves as a document management system for engineering project documents, including OpenRoads Designer (ORD) files, Microsoft Office Documents, as well as project photos and aerial images.
More information on ORD can be found on CDOT's Implementation of OpenRoads Designer Managed Workspace web page on codot.gov, which contains the zip of the Workspace and the Installation Guide that can be uploaded to the CDOT CADD & PW External Website for local installation by CDOT employees & consultants.
OpenRoads Designer Training & Support
ORD training is offered as needed throughout the fiscal year. Use the course descriptions spreadsheet below to find free ORD training available to CDOT employees. Click the course title to see if any sessions are open for enrollment in SOC Learns. If you are interested in receiving ORD support emails, please add your name to the appropriate tab of the CADD Support Mail List.
