Many teenagers these days are unable to make good financial decisions. Some examples include spending money without thinking carefully and taking on loans. Often, these can lead to various issues, such as a shortage of money during emergencies and owing large sums to debtors as an adult. Not only that, the inability to think critically and consider various factors before making huge financial decisions is a pivotal factor in this issue. Therefore, there is a strong need for teenagers to build a strong foundation and equip themselves with good financial knowledge as they progress on to the next phase of life
Trading is a great way to build the critical thinking skills of active money management and the competencies to survive in this ever-changing world. It builds discipline, reduces the likelihood of making decisions based on emotion, and develops strategic and critical thinking when making key financial decisions. Many online sites, such as Investopedia and IG Academy, offer extensive resources to teach teenagers about trading. However, they lack interactive features, such as a trading simulator and chatbots, all in one place, to help teenagers clarify and test their understanding.
Based on psychological research, many teenagers perform and learn better when they actively apply their knowledge. Flashing extensive lecture videos and notes would rather dump a humongous amount of information that they are unable to process or conceptually understand. That is why we decided to use experimental learning techniques to teach teenagers with no trading experience to build experience.
Our app contains 3 lesson modules, all of which focus on strengthening the core foundation techniques of trading: Understanding Trading Terminology, Technical Analysis Foundation through Candlestick charts, and Indicator-Based Trading. Instead of giving teenagers lecture notes and videos, we provide questions and interactive segments for them to learn on their own. It has an AI chatbot for teenagers to ask questions and test their understanding. In addition, it has a trading simulator for trading in virtual markets and assets.
