Teenagers experience unique developmental and social challenges. With heightened emotional and social pressures related to academic performance, peer relationships, and identity formation, teenagers are at risk of increased levels of anxiety, depression, and stress. This is often because they lack awareness and guidance on how they can manage their own mental health. Hence, we developed MindQuest, a mental health app that aims to help teenagers learn and develop healthy habits to manage their mental health. The user exists as a character living in a cosy home and can interact with various "stations" that focus on different aspects of mental health. Our app’s main features are a Daily Journaling and Mood Analysis feature, where an AI chatbot asks the user questions to facilitate their journaling and reflection, and a graph will be plotted to track the user’s mood over time. The data collected is used to enhance the chatbot and provide emotional support as needed, while the mood graph can help users track progress over time. There are also mindfulness exercises, calming music, and relaxing surroundings. While incorporating these, we ensured to uphold transparency and privacy.
