In Singapore, 1 in 700 babies are born with Down Syndrome, which adversely affects their health and daily life. Coin identification and calculation is one aspect in which they are affected. In the process, individuals also struggle to count coins and manage multiple coins due to dexterity in their hands and fingers.
As such, our program aims to help the user to recognise the coin in the image they upload through image recognition, calculating its value and the change they should receive. Additionally, our program helps to educate users on the coins in Singapore whilst enhancing their basic math literacy through interactive games and flashcards, keeping the process simple and fun. With our program, we hope to create an impact on society and improve the lives of others.
