A language barrier between borders separates many people of today's age. Even though crossing borders for countries is becoming more accessible with the introduction of TSA, now there is a new challenge for the 21st century, Language. When travelling overseas, tourists may have difficulty communicating such as asking for directions, ordering food or talking to the locals. Thus we are making software that can do a simple translation from one language to another through voice recognition and allowing users to learn common phrases for their travels.
Our target audience is the majority of travellers in the world that need help finding a reliable solution for translation due to the many translating platforms having inaccurate and unreliable translations. Even though these platforms exist to bridge the gap between the different languages, it only directly translates the text from one language to another, not even considering the grammar of the translation and whether it will convey the same message to the other party. These translations may confuse the other party and may indirectly offend them. Our LLM is powered by OpenAI, so it excels at detecting slang and inferring context, leading to more accurate translations.
MultiLingo comes with textual input and speech recognition, the latter adjusts to background noise, making it applicable to use in busy and noisy environments. Furthermore, our Learner Mode enables users to learn basic phrases to slowly understand the chosen language and avoid being too heavily dependent on a translator. Users can test their memory by taking a quiz, and learn from their mistakes.
