Telemark (to semi [or Open Telemark])
In closed position facing line and center, step forward L beginning to turn LF (woman back R). On beat 2, step forward and side R turning as woman draws L to R and pivots on her right heel and then shifts weight to L (heel turn). As in a double reverse spin, the man uses early rise to help lead this heel turn. At this point, you should be in good closed position, man facing reverse and wall. These steps are steps 1 and 2 of a foxtrot reverse turn. On beat 3, simply use a little right-side stretch to open the woman's head, and step toward line and wall in semi-closed position. Figure may also begin in banjo or sidecar.
