RUMBA
Master Class
Senior Center dancers learn through Phase 3-Plus. The "Plus" means that a few
Phase 4 steps--such as Alemana and Aida--are learned. So much of a Phase 4 dance
will look comfortable, but there are some steps that are unfamiliar to Ph.3+ dancers.

A World without Love Roy & Betsy Gotta
[Gary has danced with Betsy in Denver and in Reno]
Phase 5 adds more steps to the list; so much of the dance may have standard steps,
but many figures would be unknown to the lower-level dancers.

When We're Dancing Pamela & Jeff Johnson
This is a very easy Phase 6 Rumba with only three Ph.6 steps. A Ph.4 dancer would be
able to perform most of the choreography.

Every Day I Love You with the Hiltons
Nationally-renowned Round Dance instructor Sherry Garza informed Gary that she observes
the styling of champion ballroom dancer Yulia to incorporate into Round Dance exhibitions.
Here, Sherry confers with Willie.

TYPES OF RUMBA
Round Dance follows International Rumba, not American Rumba.
CAUTION: Remember to adopt any ballroom step to Round Dance, i.e., a ballroom American Rumba to
International Rumba.
