The MODIFIED CHASE WITH UNDERARM TURN

SIMPLY PUT: (Keeping lead hands joined)
Man does his regular steps for the first measure of a CHASE.1,2, Cha/Cha Cha.  
During the Cha/Cha Cha portion, man does not advance so as to allow the lady to pass him.  

During second measure, the lady turns back on the 1,2-count; so then they are
facing each other to Cha/Cha Cha as a couple.

NOTE that it is sometimes cued as MODIFIED CHASE WITH UNDERARM PASS
so as to remind the man to take smaller steps and let the woman pass ahead of him.

OFFICIAL DEFINITION

The definition seems complicated, but viewing the video will make it seem easy.

Keeping lead hands joined--  

Man:  fwd L turning 1/2 RF, rec R, fwd L/cl R, fwd L;
(Woman: bk R, rec L behind & to M’s left side, fwd R/cl L, fwd R);
Man: Fwd R, rec L to BFY COH, sd R/cl L, sd R;
(Woman:  fwd L, fwd R turning 1/2 LF to BFLY COH, sd L/cl R, sd L);
