The step names are called out by the cuer one measure of music
before the measure when the figure is to be danced.
- Round Dancing GENERAL RULE:
Leader (man) on the inside of the circle, follower (lady) on the outside.
Both start on outer foot (the free foot when in Open Position).
Cues are to Leader. Follower performs opposite footwork.
Shift weight with each step unless the cue is for an "action" step rather than a placement step.

Note: Cues to the Man [M]. Women’s [W] footwork in parentheses ( ) on cue sheets.
STEP: In basic form-- forward, close, and step forward, hold.
that's two forward steps [hence, "two-step"]. Unlike waltz, no rise and fall.
- FORWARD Two-Step: In open or in semi-closed position, step fwd, close, fwd, hold.

Observe the sample and dance along if you can.
Remember that TOUCH is an Action, so does not take weight.
DRAW is also an Action. Like drawing a line in the sand.
SIDE, DRAW, CLOSE =
SIDE (weighted step), DRAW (no weight bringing free foot to the other),
CLOSE (weighted step ).
