We knew from past encounters/interrogations that Anubis had a base up near Sacramento, so we headed straight for it, hoping to cut off the agents with our sweet hover tank. We caught up with them on the outskirts of the base, situated precariously inside a rocky canyon, filled with small mesas jutting out of the water below.
We spotted a humongous load of turrets on most of the mesas, but between our tank and Wade's gizmo-wizardry, we took those out pretty quick. While shredding that, we caught eye of the skull thieves: it looked like they'd tried to make it to the base by boat, but something had stalled them. On closer inspection we realized they were under attack by some sea monsters. Snapping to action, Wade swung down to snatch the skull, while we dealt with the monsters and agents from above.
Apparently all the commotion drew some attention from the deep, and before Wade could leave the boat a big water dragon snake thingy attacked him. Things got a bit hairy with us trying not to shoot the Templar, but the dragon dropped pretty fast. But the gods of awesome saw that we needed more carnage, and they said "Lo, shall there be an even bigger, more gnarly dragon", and so it was that the biggest, illest water dragon I've ever seen rose from the blackened deep to wage battle. We kept its attention as much as we could so Wade could climb back up the mesa, luckily Nocturne pulled out all the stops with his Mind Powers and fried the thing. I think if he had hair, it would've burned right off.
