Teton Steppir's Story
Balder got what he deserved, his benevolence and naivety left him blind to Loki's trickery, and for this he was cast down to Helheim. We should thank Hel, her torture and punishment of Balder is tearing the weakness out of him. Balder's pain is our pain, and our pain is Balder's. The more we suffer, the more Balder suffers, and the more Balder suffers, the stronger he becomes. There will come a day when Balder is so adapted to pain, he won’t even feel it at all. On that day he’ll simply walk out of Helheim and return to us - casting out darkness and pain, leading the world to a new utopia.
All that being said, the gods have their own problems. But first, Teton's gotta worry about number one. Life is rough in Svilland, and Teton has had particularly bad luck. Cast out of Berzog'ul, persecuted for his choice of religion, and now he's found himself chained to yet another slaver barge. Teton's been 12 years a slave, which would imply that he's been sold to several people, but in fact he's yet to be sold even once. Most sellers tend to dump Teton on the next unsuspecting slaver group because they're sick of his shit. Slavers tend to favor beating unruly slaves, as you do, but when Teton gets beat he has a habit of reflecting some of that pain back onto the slaver while joking "now you try!" This does not amuse the slavers.
Teton's enduring for now, pain just earns favor with his gods, but someday someone's going to slip. When that happens, Hel gets a new offering.
