The Leech (Race)
This creature is a small worm-like creature that houses great intelligence and psychic power.
A background edge ( Leech [racial edge] ) must be spent in order to become this race
Stats: the leech has two restrictions on ability stats: it's Strength and Vigor cannot be raised above a d4.
It's natural pace is 2.
It does start with the psionics skill at a d4, a power point pool of ? The leech does have the puppet power, but it's use is limited to controlling it's host.*
The Leech is a tiny creature
The Leech is very adapt at psionics, and gains a +2 to psionics skill checks if they also take the Arcane Background: Psionics
The Leech can either act as a symbiote or a parasite towards its host. The state is determined by the willingness of the host to cooperate or to resist the leech.
The leech must first make physical contact with it's host, in order to establish a mental connection. And, when the leech tries to attach to a new host, the host gets a notice skill check at a -4 try and detect the creature making an attachment.
The leech must then establish a psychic connection with the person, rolling a Psionics skill check vs. the person's spirit. A success means that the host can be linked to, but must be persuaded (as per the skill at a -2) in order to cooperate. A raise on the check negates the need for the host to be persuaded.
A success means that the host has been persuaded to let this leech to share the body, even take control of the body on occasion. This willing symbiosis allows the leech to share its gifts with the host, share experiences, thoughts and memories.
*If this roll fails, then the leech can use the puppet power to control the person as long as they have enough power points. The Leech must remember to tell the host to forget their presence, so that they can safely escape before the puppet power ends, or they risk being attacked by an unwilling host.
Initially, the Leech cannot control anything besides npc humans. The leech cannot control a Wild Card character, animals or monsters. Trying to do so causes the leech to automatically fail, and probably suffer an immediate attack.

-The worm begins an evolution in which it forms a carapace on the subject, augmenting the host's physical attributes.
-The worm kills its host, consuming the brain, then forming a pseudo-brain in the unused cranial cavity, the leech drives his corpse body around.
