Lady in white:
The darkness flows through the streets of the city,
The darkness grows and it feels no pity.
She holds all hope in her bosom for the city,
But the darkness takes all life without pity,
‘Til there’s no one left to save the city.
Men of the city:
We need a hero.
Not another zero.
We need a strong hero.
Not just another halo.
But a strong and virile hero.
A potent and powerful hero.
Ladies of the city:
You’re always wanting a champion,
When anybody will do.
You want a winner, a defender,
Someone who’s just like you.
You want us to say, “You’ll do.”
But you’re not a winner,
You’re not my defender.
You’re just another sinner.
The same ending is searching for you,
You’re just a man, you’ll never do.
The preachers:
The whores! The whores!
The city’s full of whores!
It’s wicked and it’s vile,
And we’ll not allow much more!
The evangelists:
The Lord! The Lord!
He’ll strike them with His sword.
Your wickedness you cannot hide,
Only in the Lord are you to abide.
The preachers and the evangelists:
Marriage is given by God for a man and a wife,
Though it doesn’t necessarily have to be for life.
A gay marriage is something we could never endorse,
Cause only with heterosexuals will God allow divorce.
The preachers:
O the Lord! Our Lord!
No more! No more!
We can’t take it anymore!
The evangelists:
The End! The End!
He’ll make them pay for their sin!
The preachers: The evangelists:
You gotta be borne, Again.
You gonna be borne, Again.
Borne, borne, Borne,
Borne again.
You gotta be washed, With blood.
You gonna be washed, In blood.
Washed, washed, Washed,
In His blood.
Hallelujah!! Hallelujah!!
Borne again!! Free of sin!!
Hallelujah!! Hallelujah!!
Free of sin!! Borne again!!
Borne, borne, Borne,
Borne again.
Men and Ladies of the city:
If the saved are saved, what about the rest?
The ones who are trying to do their very best?
The preachers and the evangelists:
Tsk, tsk. Tsk, tsk.
Doing only your best will make you miss.
Obeying our word is a must,
Cause loving Him means loving us.
OH!!!
The preachers: The evangelists:
The sin! The sin! The whores! The whores!
The women with the men. He will not allow much more!
The sin! The sin! Bring them to my tent.
The men with the men.
The sin! The sin! Bring them to my tent.
Women with women.
The whores! The whores! Bring the whores to my tent.
He will not allow much more! I’ll sleep with them,
And help them to repent.
The sin! The sin!
He’ll make them pay in THE END.
The preachers and the evangelists:
This city’s full of demons and the evilness must die,
The Lord will strike it down unless He hears her cries.
Pray to Him for salvation and stop living on the edge,
But we’re willing to put THE END on hold, if you just mail in your pledge.
The preachers: The evangelists:
Your pledge! Your pledge! Please send us your pledge.
Stop living on the edge. Your pledge! Your pledge!
The preachers and the evangelists:
Mail it today! Do not hesitate!
Your eternal salvation is at stake!
Reprove the evil and rebuke the Devil’s tests,
Send us nineteen ninety-five,
And we will see that you are blest.
Men and Ladies of the city:
Your wisdom and your knowledge,
Has taken us aback.
But what day of the week,
Did your theories become facts?
The preachers: The evangelists:
OH!
Send us a dollar! And He’ll bless you with hundreds.
Send us a hundred! And He’ll bless you with thousands.
Men and Ladies of the city:
Our money is for food,
We have none that we can spare.
The preachers and the evangelists:
You want to tithe, tithe, tithe,
To show you serve Him well.
Men and Ladies of the city:
So must we spend our money,
To simply show we care?
The preachers and the evangelists:
You need to tithe, tithe, tithe,
Or you’re gonna burn in hell!
OH!
The preachers: The evangelists:
Your pledge! Your pledge! Please send us your pledge.
Stop living on the edge. Your pledge! Your pledge!
Hallelujah!! Hallelujah!!
All the children:

Please don’t forget about us!
We hope to grow up cause In God We Trust!
We Trust!
Trusting is our life, it is our only way,
Can there be a judgment, when there is no day?
Who will save the little ones?
Keep them safe from evil ones?
Who will be the one to come and save?
The Nuns:
The Lord! The Lord will save one and all,
The Lord!

Come little ones, give yourselves to the Lord,
Come little ones, see what He can do for you.
O come little ones, find the love of the Lord,
Come little ones, and learn our love for you, too.
All the little boys:
But Father, we never knew,
That when we called you ‘Father,’
You would take it farther,
Than a father’s allowed to do.
The Priest: The Nuns:
Where’s a god when you need Him? In God We Trust! We Must!
Where’s a god when you need Him?
Where’s a god? Where’s a god when you need Him?

And even all was not enough.

But the darkness takes all life without pity,
‘Til there’s no one left to save the city.

What have we learned? Where can we turn?
Who helped save us in the past?

If our city is ever to last.

The past means nothing to us,
Only the men were important then,
And one and all came to their end.

All in the city:
What does it mean when there are no answers?
What does it mean?
What does it mean when prayers are unanswered?
What does it mean?
What does it mean when the saved needs saving?
What does it mean?
What does it mean to always be slaving?
What does it mean?
Men and ladies of the city:
Someone tell us now.
Don’t try to bluff us now.
Someone show us how.
Tell us and tell us now!
Pour out the answers, write them in a book.
Hang them in the sky, so all can have a look.
Yes, pour out the answers, pour them in a cup.
Give us the answers, or just shut the hell up.
Men of the city: Ladies of the city:
Shut up! Shut up! Shut the hell up!
Shut the hell up! Shut up! Shut up!
When you don’t have the answers,
Shut up! Shut up! Shut the hell up!
Shut the hell up! Shut up! Shut up!
When there are no answers,
Shut up! Shut up! Shut the hell up!
Shut the hell up! Shut up! Shut up!
Don’t shower us with piety, Save it for your deity.
If you just don’t know, Be honest and tell us so.
Or shut up! Shut up!
It’s OK, We can handle it.
We can handle it, It’s OK.
Keep on asking, We can handle it.
Hold our hands,
Show you care. Just be there.
Hold my hand,
Just be there. Show you care.
It’s OK. We can handle it.
We can handle it, It’s OK.
There may be no answers, We can handle it.
We can handle it, It’s OK.
Just be there. Show you care.
But what we can’t handle is your all-knowing, got every answer to the explainable, self-righteous, gonna get to heaven, basking in the glory of the Lord, while everyone else burns in hell cause they didn’t have the answers to the things that can’t be answered,
So,
Shut up! Shut up! Shut the hell up!
Shut the hell up! Shut up! Shut up!
Lady in white:
The darkness flows through the streets of the city,
The darkness grows and it feels no pity.
She holds all hope in her bosom for the city,
But the darkness takes all life without pity,
‘Til there’s no one left to save the city.
Men, women, and children of the city:
Who O, who?
Who will come and save our city?
CURTAIN
