Minutes - March 11, 2016 - Shadowbrook Board Meeting
Present: Jeff Brady, Jane Birch, Robb Abegg, Diana Mahony, Lynn Jensen (excused: Thad Johnson)
Opening meeting: No owners or residents attending
· February minutes approved (with spelling correction of Jeff’s name)
· Financial Report: Robb presented January and February reports. Approval deferred pending minor corrections. Revised reports to be distributed and approved by email.
· Landscaping: Lynn presented bid by ML Landscaping – our new provider, to replace Reliance. Discussion of pyrocanthas bushes – Need to be trimmed for better appearance, but height maintained for sound barrier. This work will be billed separately.
· Water/sprinklers: Reviewed over-watering concerns shared at annual meeting. New suggestions: 1) Hire professional consulting about sprinkler type and management; Sprinklers and rotors don’t mix. 2) Develop a 7-year or 10-year plan for redoing system.
· Pool: Samantha Roan will take care of pool this year. She is taking pool certification classes at SLCC and has accepted SCOA offer. Jo Clawson will be paid for one week to work with her on use of chemicals. Cost expected to be the same as last year; pool cleaners to be ordered, but sand filters not needed again.
· Insurance: Need to update policy, particularly with an eye to liability related to anyone whose services SCOA hires.
