I will be traveling with a large group, approximately 13 people, in July of 2020.  We will be arriving via cruise ship in Livorno July 9, Civitavecchia July 10, and Naples July 11.  Is it possible to align tours for all three cities with you and receive a bulk rate?  We want to incorporate the most notable sites at each stop, but also want to incorporate stops at vineyards, breweries, and local food.  If this is something you can do, we can work on a detailed itinerary for each stop.  Thank you in advance for your help!

LIVORNO: Pisa, Florence and Chianti Region Private Shore Excursion by Vans (9 July)

Tour Description

Proposed Itinerary (may be reversed or rearranged as needed)

NOTE that the itinerary can be customized and coordinated directly with the driver according to your specific needs and/or preferences.

• Pick up in the morning from the port reaching Florence after 1.5  hours drive (depending on traffic).

• You will have free time to tour Florence for 2-3 hours, which you can spend visiting some of the following sites: Romanesque church of San Miniato al Monte, Michelangelo Square where you can enjoy the most beautiful panorama of the city, historical center with stops at the beautiful Santa Croce Square, the Brunelleschi Dome, Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio

• At the agreed upon time, (to be coordinated with the driver) you will visit a beautiful wine estate in the heart of the Chianti Region for wine tasting with finger food experience (at the "San Michele a Torri" estate). Select the "Add a reservation for the wine tasting experience" (the cost is €15 per person to be paid directly on site).

• The tour will then take you to Pisa (1-hour drive approximately).

• We will do a quick stop in Pisa directly in Miracle Square where you can admire “La Torre Pendente” The leaning Tower, Pisa's majestic Romanesque Cathedral and the unusual round baptistery.

• Return to port (drive 30-40 min).

Tour Description

• Pick up at cruise ship’s pier (driver will have a sign with your name)

• Depart pier and drive to Rome for about 1.5 hours

• Reach and visit Vatican Area (this may be done at the end depending on Vatican daily activities).

  • St. Peter's Basilica - free to enter, will need to pass security check which is likely to have a long line.

  • Vatican Museum which includes the Sistine Chapel (takes from 1.5 to 2h) - Skip the lines entrance tickets are absolutely necessary (purchased separately here).

  • To fully visit the Vatican we highly suggest choosing the licensed guide service, this will allow you to enter the Vatican Museum, visit the Sistine Chapel (which is inside the Vatican Museum), and take advantage of a passage reserved to guided groups that will allow you to enter S. Peter's Basilica avoiding the very long lines.

• Drive to Circus Maximus for a spectacular view of Palatine Hill.

• Reach and visit the Colosseum and Roman Forum (allocate about 1h to visit, more for the interior in-depth visit).

  • The Forum and Colosseum can be visited from the outside. For interior visits, skip the lines entrance tickets are absolutely necessary (purchased separately here).

• Drive to Piazza di Spagna and visit the area, continue to Fontana di Trevi and visit the area (make sure to drop a coin!) then continue for a visit to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. *Important Itinerary Note: If you purchased tickets for interior visits of BOTH the Colosseum AND the Vatican Museums you will not have enough time for a complete visit of this portion of the itinerary.

• Return to pier in Civitavecchia, taking about 1.5 hours

Pompeii and Amalfi Coast are both UNESCO World Heritage Sites and among the most visited destinations in Italy. This day tour excursion highlights the best the region has to offer, from the impressive ancient city of Pompeii to a visit of the enchanting Sorrento and the charming seaside village of Positano and Amalfi.

Proposed Itinerary (may be reversed or rearranged as needed)ù

• Pick up  at cruise ship’s pier (driver will have a sign with your name)

• Reach Pompeii and spend 2 hours for a visit of the site (€15,00 entrance tickets to be purchased on site). 

• Travelers have the opportunity to reserve a 2 hours private guided tour of the site for an additional charge (advance reservation required).

• Drive to Sorrento for a visit of this beautiful town and stop there for shopping and lunch.

• Drive to Positano and stop for a panoramic overview of of the town from above (picture stop).

• The remaining part of the itinerary may vary depending on the vehicle size booked:

  • IF TRAVELING BY VAN (for a group of up to 8 people)  travelers will be able to decide if they wish to descend to the town of Positano for a visit of this picturesque town (considered the jewel of the coast)  OR continue driving to Amalfi along the panoramic windy road and stop for a visit of the town and it’s very beautiful duomo.

  •  IF TRAVELING BY MINIBUS (9 people or more) travelers will continue driving to Amalfi along the panoramic winding road and stop for a visit of the town and it’s very beautiful duomo (the option of descending to visit Positano is not available as vehicles larger than an 8 seats van have limited access to the Positano downtown area).

• Drive back to the port.
