ITINERARY NOTE:  eating pizza at Antico Forno Roscioli (Via dei Chiavari 34, Roma) and possibly getting gelato

SUGGESTION FOR THE 2 additional people. They can book the same tour shared with other people in the van. We have those tours going on and there is room for the 2 of them in another vehicle. This means that they would not travel with you but they would see the same things. The tour costs EUR 70 per person (20 deposit and 50 cash balance for each one of them). They are picked up at the ship at 8:30 am . If they decide to do that they can just pay EUR 40 deposit (at the top of the page) and we will send them the voucher with instructions.

INCLUSIONS: 

• Travel in air-conditioned 8 or 7 seat vans, ideal for reaching historical sites and reducing walking.

• Licensed professional driver.

• The driver will assist you with basic information and suggestions.

Proposed Itinerary 

• • NOTE that the itinerary can be customized and coordinated directly with the driver according to your specific needs and/or preferences.

    • Pick up at cruise ship’s pier (driver will have a sign with your name)

    • Depart pier and drive to Rome for about 1.5 hours

    • Reach and visit Vatican Area (this may be done at the end depending on Vatican daily actvities).

      • St. Peter's Basilica - free to enter, will need to pass security check which is likely to have a long line.

      • Vatican Museum which includes the Sistine Chapel (takes from 1.5 to 2h) - Skip the lines entrance tickets are absolutely necessary 

      • To fully visit the Vatican we highly suggest choosing the licensed guide service, this will allow you to enter the Vatican Museum, visit the Sistine Chapel (which is inside the Vatican Museum), and take advantage of a passage reserved to guided groups that will allow you to enter S. Peter's Basilica avoiding the very long lines.

    • Drive to Circus Maximus for a spectacular view of Palatine Hill.

    • Reach and visit the Colosseum and Roman Forum (allocate about 1h to visit, more for the interior in-depth visit).

      • The Forum and Colosseum can be visited from the outside. 

    • Drive to Piazza di Spagna and visit the area, continue to Fontana di Trevi and visit the area (make sure to drop a coin!) then continue for a visit to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. 

    • Return to pier in Civitavecchia, taking about 1.5 hours

    • Itinerary details are indicative and may need to be changed by the driver in case of heavy traffic or any other unforeseen situation.
