Tour Description

The driver will pick you up at the ship pier and takes you to visit the most important sites of Athens. After a short stop at the Parliament House (to enjoy the changing of the guards), the tour continues to Corinth. The first stop will be the Canal where you can admire Attica and Corinthia as well as Peloponnese Peninsula. Then you will continue to the Ancient city of Corinth. The principal sights include the Temple Apollo, The fountain of Pirene, the Marketplace, Theater the Odeum. Also, we will also visit Isthmus at the site of the ancient port of Kechreai where St. Paul disembarked to Ephesus.

Drive back to Athens in the afternoon.

We learn its history from our expert local guide and walk on the remarkably preserved wide marble streets, flanked by columns, temples and fountains. We look at all the famous highlights like the, Celsus Library, Harbour Street, Agora, Fountain of Trajan, stream baths of scholastic, Temple of Domitian, Great Theater which is still used for performances and special events today.

Next; Terrace Houses which From the time of Augustus, these dwellings of wealthy Ephesians, were decorated with beautiful frescoes and mosaics. The houses had luxurious bedrooms, bathrooms, tricliniums and kitchens. Archeologisit have been excavating 7 houses owned by the richest Ephesians.These were high ranking officers, governors and rich trades man.

After a lunch at local restaurant continue on to St John Basilica on the slopes of Ayasuluk. St John believed to have spend the last years of his life to Ephesus writing his version of the Gospel. Emperor Justinian(527-565 AD) believed that a tomb dating from the 300s was Johns, so he built a great church above it in the 500s. Our last visiting place will be Temple of Arthemis; Considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, Temple of Artemis was dedicated to the goddess of the hunt. Only the foundation and one column remains of this temple which once measured 425 feet long, 220 feet long.Paul’s successful ministry in this city was considered a threat to this very temple.The city reached the Golden Age and became a good model to the Antique World in culture and art, as well.
